Giant urticaria (swelling of the quinck)


- an acute process, which is characterized by a sudden appearance of edema of the subcutaneous tissue, fasciae, muscles. Edema, the size of a chicken egg and even more, is observed in places with loose fiber - lips, eyelids, cheeks, mucous membranes of the mouth, scrotums. Lasting from several hours to 2-3 days, he then completely disappeared.
Especially dangerous is the swelling of the Quincke in the larynx. At the beginning, hoarseness of the voice, "barking" cough, is first noted, then the difficulty of breathing with dyspnea increases. The complexion gets a cyanotic shade, then abruptly turns pale. In the absence of rational therapy (including subcutaneous injection of 0.1% 1 ml of adrenaline) patients may die in the event of asphyxiation.
Treatment:
First of all, eliminate, if possible, the allergen. Assign drugs, antihistamines, desensitizing and folliculitis, boils, face, acute lymphangitis and lymphadenitis.
