Corticosteroid preparations

- the most vigorous anti-inflammatory drugs, but one must keep in mind that they can exacerbate the course of infectious diseases of the skin (pustular, fungal, viral). Corticosteroids are used in the form of creams, ointments, including those prepared on the basis of a lean, water-soluble basis. These include hydrocortisone ointment, oxycort, oxyzone, prednisolone ointment, deperzolone, dermozolone. More effective effect is provided with ointments and creams containing fluorinated corticosteroids: leludkort, fluorocort, sinalar, flucinar, lorinden, etc. However, one should be aware of the possibility of serious complications due to prolonged use of fluoride-containing corticosteroids. Worst of all, these drugs carry facial skin.
Corticosteroid creams and ointments are easily rubbed, after that, according to the indications of the doctor, you can impose an occlusive i.e. Impermeable bandage (polyethylene film, etc.). A number of corticosteroid preparations contain various disinfectants, including antibiotics. Abuse of them, especially such as neomycin, can cause the development of latent sensitization to them.
The resolving agents have an irritating effect, due to which the reflex dilatation of the cutaneous vessels occurs. The resulting active hyperemia contributes to the resolution of infiltrates and thereby the resolution of chronic inflammation. The most important resolving agents are tar, sulfur, ASD (Degorov's liquid), Ichthyol.
