Otitis acute external diffuse (diffuse otitis externa)


With this form of otitis inflammation spreads to the skin of the osseous part of the external auditory canal, to the depth of the skin, the subcutaneous layer and often to the tympanic membrane. The causes can be mechanical and chemical trauma, thermal (burn), followed by the introduction of a wide variety of infections. With persistent otitis often there are fungal lesions.
Symptoms and course:
Swelling and reddening of the skin of the ear canal, peeling, moccasin, mucous or purulent discharge. Sharp at first the pain then gives way to a strong itch and a feeling of stuffiness in the ear.
Recognition:
Based on complaints, examination, hearing audiograms. Sometimes sowing of pus and research on mushrooms is necessary.
Treatment:
Diet (excluding spicy and spicy dishes), food rich in vitamins, antiallergic drugs (suprastin, tavegil, dimedrol), ear washing with warm rivanol solution (1: 5000), lubrication with 3-5% silver nitrate solution, 1-2% alcohol solution Brilliant green.
