The spectrum of action is not limited to hingamina impact on Plasmodium falciparum. He has an inhibitory effect on nucleic acid synthesis, activity of some enzymes, immunological processes. The drug is widely used in the treatment of connective tissue (diffuse connective tissue disease): systemic lupus erythematosus, scleroderma, and especially rheumatoid arthritis, in which he is regarded as one of the basic drugs.

The drug has anti-arrhythmic activity; in patients with premature beats and paroxysmal atrial fibrillation contributes to the restoration of sinus rhythm. By the nature of the action relates to group I antiaritmikam.

When treating malaria appoint hingamin inside (after eating) for adults 2 0 - 2, 5 g per treatment. Typically, the drug is taken orally, but in malignant malaria during, treatment begins with intramuscular administration. The single dose for an adult of 10 ml of 5% solution; if necessary repeat injections with an interval of 6 - 8 hours, but not more than three times (not more than 30 ml).

Intravenously administered only in severe cases: 10 ml of 5% solution diluted in 10 - 20 ml of 40% glucose solution or isotonic sodium chloride solution. Enter in the vein slowly.
