Description of the medicine: Rilmenidine (Rilmenidine)
2 - [(Dicyclopropylmethyl) amino] -2-oxazoline.
Synonyms: Albarel, Tenaxum, Albarel, Tenaxum.
It is a selective stimulator of central and peripheral imidazoline (I 1 ) receptors.
Quickly and completely absorbed in the digestive tract, bioavailability of about 100%, C max is 1.5-2 h, T S - 8 h; Undergoes a slight biotransformation in the liver, is excreted by the kidneys mainly in an unchanged form.
Applied with arterial hypertension.
Assign inside 0.001 g (1 mg) 1 time per day, if necessary, the daily dose can be increased after 1 month to 0.002 g (2 mg) (in 2 divided doses). The antihypertensive effect persists for 24 hours.
Possible side effects: insomnia or drowsiness, depression, seizures, orthostatic hypotension, palpitations, dry mouth, diarrhea and constipation, nausea.
The drug is contraindicated in case of depression, impaired renal function, pregnancy and lactation.
