Description medicines: tramadol (Tramadolum)

Tramadol (Tramadolum). (#) - trans-2 - [(Dimethylamino) methyl] 1- (m-methoxyphenyl) cyclohexanol hydrochloride.

Synonyms: Tramal, Crispin, Melanate, Tramadol hydrochloride, Tramal.

Strong analgesic activity, gives rapid and lasting effect. Inferior, however, the activity of morphine at the same doses (used in large doses, respectively).

It belongs to a group of agonist-antagonists. It is effective when administered both oral and parenteral.

When administered intravenously, provides analgesic effect within 5 - 10 min, when administered in - 30 - 40 min. Valid for 3 - 5 hours.

Apply with severe acute and chronic pain: in the postoperative period, with injuries, cancer patients, etc., as well as before the operation.. the drug is not recommended for use in mild pain.

Adults and children over 14 years is administered intravenously (slow drip) 50 - 100 mg (1 - 2 ampoules) to 400 mg (0.4 grams) per day. At the same dose administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly. Inside designate (with a small amount of liquid) in capsules of 50 mg - 8 capsules (0.4 g) a day, or in the form of drops - 20 drops (containing 50 mg tramadol) to receive a small amount of water up to 8 times per day .

Tramadol can be assigned in rectal suppositories containing 0.1 g (100 mg), 1 suppository to 4 times a day.

Children under the age of 14 years, the drug is not indicated because of insufficient knowledge of (the drug recently introduced into medical practice). The drug should not be used for a long time (to avoid habituation).

Tramadol is relatively well tolerated, is not expressed in normal doses respiratory depression and has no significant effect on blood circulation and the gastrointestinal tract. It may, however, cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, sweating; high blood pressure can be somewhat reduced.

You can not assign tramadol in acute alcohol intoxication; patients with hypersensitivity to narcotic analgesics; patients taking MAO inhibitors. Pregnant appointment should be made with extreme caution.

Product: capsules containing 0.05 g (50 mg) and 20 to 10 pieces per pack of the formulation; drops (containing 1 ml 100 mg) in vials of 10 units per pack; 1 ml ampoule containing 50 mg (0.05 g) in 1 ml and 2 ml containing 50 mg in 1 ml (total 100 mg vial) of 5 and 50 pieces in a package; rectal suppositories containing 100 mg (0.1 g) in a package of 5 pieces.

Storage: in compliance with the rules for narcotic analgesics.
