Description of the medicine: Gadodiamide (Gadodiamide)

GADODIAMID (Gadodiamide).

[N, N-Bis [2 - [(carboxymethyl) [(methylcarbamoyl) methyl] amino] ethyl] glycinate (3 -)] gadolinium.

Synonym: Omniscan, Omniscan.

On the chemical structure and the principle of action is close to the magnevist (dimeglumina gadopentam).

Applied to enhance the contrast in magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and spinal cord.

Intravenously injected intravenously once before the study. The usual dose of 0.1 mmol (0.2 ml of solution) per 1 kg of body weight. The maximum contrast is observed approximately 45 minutes after administration.

Possible side effects: dyspepsia, ataxia, tremor, convulsive reactions, paresthesia, visual impairment, tinnitus, acute renal failure, arthralgia, myalgia, allergic reactions.

Contraindications: severe renal dysfunction, pregnancy, breast-feeding.

Form release: a solution (0.5 mmol / ml) for injection in bottles of 5, 10, 15, 20, 40 and 50 ml.

Storage: List B. In the dark place.

Some other (new) gadolinium preparations are also close to magnesian and gadodiamine in structure and application: dotarem, gadoteridol, etc.

Dotarem (meglyumin gadoterate) is available as a solution for injections in ampoules of 5 ml, in bottles of 10, 15 and 20 ml and in syringes of 15 and 20 ml.
