Description of the medicine: Epirubicin (Epirubicin)

EPIRUBICIN.

(8S-cis) -10 - [(3-Amino-2,3,6-trideoxy-α-L-arabinohexopyranosyl) oxy] -7,8,9,10-tetrahydro-6,8,11-trioxy-8 - (oxyacetyl) -1-methoxy-, 12-naphthacenedione.

Synonyms: Farmorubicin, Epilem, Epilem, Farmorubicin.

Antitumor antibiotic of anthracycline.

The antitumor effect is explained by intercalation and covalent DNA binding, as well as by the inhibition of topoisomerase II.

Applied with cancer of the breast, ovaries, stomach, liver, pancreas, sigmoid and rectum, lung, bladder, non-Hodgkin's lymphomas, sarcomas, neuroblastoma, head and neck tumors, leukemia, myeloma.

Assign intravenously (injected for 3-5 minutes) at a dose of 30 mg / m 2 per day for 1-3 days with an interval of 3 weeks or 100 mg / m 2 every 3 weeks. The course dose is 1 g / m 2 .

Possible side effects: dyspeptic disorders, anorexia, stomatitis, alopecia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, anemia, cardiotoxic effects (less pronounced than doxorubicin), increased body temperature, sclerotherapy of veins.

Contraindications: myelosuppression, severe heart disease, pregnancy, breast-feeding.

Form release: lyophilized powder for injection solutions in vials of 0.01 and 0.05 g (10 and 50 mg).
