Description of the medicine: Phosphothiaminum (Phosphothiaminum)

Phosphothiaminum.

Monophosphoric ester of 4-methyl-5-b-hydroxyethyl-N- (2'-methyl-4'-amino-5'-methyl-pyrimidyl) -thiazolium phosphate.

White crystalline powder of sour taste with a weak characteristic odor. Easily soluble in water, almost insoluble in alcohol.

The drug is a phosphoric thiamine ester and, in its basic properties, does not differ from other synthetic preparations of vitamin B 1. Compared with tianin chloride and thiamine bromide, it is deposited more in the tissues of the body, to a lesser degree is destroyed by the enzyme thiaminase, it is easier to convert into an active form - cocarboxylase, somewhat less toxic.

They are used as a remedy for neuritis, polyneuritis (including those not associated with B 1 vitamin deficiency), asthenic conditions, as an additional remedy for chronic circulatory failure, with chronic gastritis accompanied by impaired motor and secretory functions of the stomach, and with Other diseases, if the use of thiamine is indicated.

Take inside at 0.01 g (if necessary to 0.03 g) 3 - 4 times a day (after meals). The course of treatment is usually 3 to 4 weeks.

Possible side effects and contraindications for use are the same as for thiamine.

Form release: tablets of 0.01 and 0.03 g in cans of 20; 50 or 100 pieces.

Storage: in a dry place protected from light.
