Tears of the cervix

Tears of the cervix appear during labor, more often pathological. Causes: inflammatory and dystrophic processes, rigidity of the cervix, delivery of a large fetus, rapid delivery, "operative delivery." There are 3 degrees of cervical rupture: I degree - ruptures from one or two sides not more than 2 cm; II degree - ruptures more than 2 cm, but not reaching the arches of the vagina; 111 degree-ruptures, reaching the lateral arches of the vagina and passing on them. Tears of the cervix are usually accompanied by bleeding, which begins after the birth of the child. Blood flowing scarlet. Bleeding continues after the birth of the afterbirth, despite a good contraction of the uterus. The diagnosis is confirmed by examining the cervix with the help of vaginal mirrors.

Treatment - careful stitching of gaps with catgut.
