Hypersecretion of gastric function

Hyper secretion of the gastric functional (hyperacid state, irritable stomach syndrome) is characterized by increased gastric secretion and acidity of gastric juice. Temporary increase in gastric secretion is observed when eating a large number of seasonings, which have a sokonnom action, acute substances, alcohol, with predominantly protein-carbohydrate nutrition, with mental excitement. Intensification of gastric secretion is observed in the initial stage of thyrotoxicosis, with hypercortisy and long-term treatment with steroid drugs. A peptic ulcer with localization of the process in the bulb of the duodenum and the pylorus is often accompanied by hypersecretion of the stomach.

Similar functional disorders occur in duodenitis (in the early stages of the disease) and in the period preceding the peptic ulcer exacerbation.

Symptoms, course. In most cases, functional gastric hypersecretion is asymptomatic, but there may be ulcer-like pains in epigastrium (due to the reflex spasm of the pylorus - an increased pyloric reflex to severe acidification of the contents of the duodenum), heartburn, in rare cases, vomiting with a large amount of acidic gastric juice on an empty stomach . When X-ray examination in the stomach, a large amount of fasting juice is determined, with fractional gastric intubation using modern stimulants of gastric secretion (histamine, pentagastrin) and pH-metry-hyperaciditas. Differential diagnosis - primarily with a peptic ulcer with localization of ulceration in the doorkeeper or duodenum.

The treatment is aimed at the normalization of nutrition, the regime of work and rest, the activity of the central nervous system. In the presence of clinical symptoms treatment is conducted, as in peptic ulcer.
