Stridor congenital

Stridor congenital is an anomaly in the development of the outer ring of the larynx. It is revealed in early childhood. The epiglottis is soft and folded into a tube, the scapular-over-laryngeal folds approach each other and form, as it were, loose sails which, when inhaled, suck in the larynx cavity, which explains the inspiratory noise during breathing. Characterized by a whistling sonorous noise during inspiration. Its intensity decreases during sleep and, conversely, increases with excitement, screaming, coughing. The general condition remains good, the voice is saved.

Stridor phenomena usually decrease by 6 months and disappear completely to 2-3 years. Treatment is not carried out.
