Hydradenite

Hyderadenitis is a purulent inflammation of the apocrine sweat glands.

Etiology. Hyperhidrosis, abrasions, diaper rash in combination with infection (staphylococcus and less often streptococcus). It often occurs in the armpits, less often in the perineum and the navel.

Symptoms, course. After a slight itching, there is pain and a tight knot 0.5-3 cm in diameter, located under the skin, later the fluctuation is determined. Inflammation can seize several sweat glands or move from one gland to another. The temperature is raised, in the blood-leukocytosis with a shift of the formula to the left. The diagnosis is simple.

Treatment at the stage of infiltration is conservative (rest, antibiotics, ultraviolet irradiation, treatment of the skin with alcohol or antiseptics), with the appearance of fluctuations - dissection of the abscess. A frequent tendency to relapse of the disease; In such cases specific immunotherapy (staphylococcal vaccine, anatoxin, gamma globulin), restorative and vitamin therapy is shown.

Prevention. Hygienic measures, elimination of hyperhidrosis.
