Foreign bodies of soft tissues
Foreign bodies of soft tissues are more often localized on the hands and feet. These are pieces of metal, wood or glass. Somewhat less often foreign bodies (fragments of injection needles) are localized in the gluteal regions.
Symptoms, course. Immediately after trauma, often only superficially located foreign bodies are removed, some of them located in deeper layers, may remain undiagnosed and unsuccessful. After complete healing of the wound, there is sometimes a distinct local tenderness, according to the location of the foreign body, more often the wound does not heal completely-a fistula with a slight purulent discharge remains.
Diagnostics of radiopaque foreign bodies does not present difficulties, it is more difficult to detect glass and wooden foreign bodies.
Treatment operative. Significant difficulties can arise when removing foreign bodies in complex anatomical areas (hand, foot) or in large soft tissues (buttocks). Before anesthesia and surgery, the foreign body is labeled under the X-ray machine with metal needles drawn to the foreign body in 2 planes. Before the operation, it is necessary to introduce the MSS for Beside. The prognosis is favorable.
The technique of removing fish hooks. Place the introduction of the hook and the intended exit zone of the sting hook to be anesthetized with novocaine. The hook is held in soft tissues until the sting is released to the surface, the latter is bitten off, and the hook is pulled out in the opposite direction.
