You probably understand that any disease is easier to prevent than than to cure long and hard.

And, perhaps, it is necessary to talk about the prevention of any disease before treatment? Here are a few fairly simple rules that will help you avoid ARVI.

A good barrier to infection is the gauze bandage , or mask. It will protect you in places of congestion of a large number of people. But do not forget: the mask protects only for 2-3 hours, after it should be changed to fresh.

Studies have shown that during the day, a person's hands touch hundreds of times separated from the nose, mouth and eyes.

Handshakes, touching door handles, handrails in public transport are all ways of passing the infection through the hands.

Through the hands of germs fall into the nose, mouth, eyes.

Therefore, it is advisable, whenever possible, to give up handshakes altogether (especially in the period of epidemics of viral diseases). Hands need to be washed often, especially during periods of unfavorable epidemiological situation.

In order to prevent the flu and SARS, it is very important to limit contact with sick people, this is especially true for children. It is desirable to avoid places of large crowds of people, as little as possible to use public transport. Long walks in the fresh air are useful.

General strengthening measures

One of the important methods for the prevention of acute respiratory diseases (in this case it is not the flu) is tempering , which is aimed at normalizing the function of the human respiratory system under conditions of low temperature, which reduces the risk of infection.

For the purpose of prevention, it is recommended to take multivitamins with a high content of vitamin C. Ascorbic acid has a general strengthening effect, as it participates in oxidation-reduction processes, carbohydrate metabolism, regulation of the blood coagulation system. Vitamin C is rich in citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, grapefruits, mandarins), a lot of it in sauerkraut.

Inside ascorbic acid take 0.5-1 g 1-2 times a day.

Garlic and onions - a very affordable and indispensable means of prevention in the period of massive incidence of flu and colds. Daily enough to eat 3-4 cloves of garlic or 1 fresh onion bulb.

Additional measures

Additional measures include prophylaxis of the throat and toilet of the nose .

For rinses you can use solutions of furacilin, soda, infusions or herbal medicinal plants (chamomile, sage, eucalyptus).

For the nose bowl, the front sections of the nose are washed with plenty of water and soap. At the same time, mechanical removal of foreign elements occurs. You can lubricate the nasal mucosa with oil onions and garlic infusion.

  • Recipe: 0.3 cups of vegetable oil, 3-4 cloves of garlic, 0,25 onions.
Vegetable oil in a glass container to withstand 30-40 minutes in a boiling water bath. Onion and garlic finely chop, pour with chilled butter. Stir the mixture for 2 hours and strain.
With the preventive purpose, you can do 10-15-minute warm foot baths with the addition of dry mustard, after which it is very useful to rub the feet with any warming ointment.

It should be remembered that folk methods of prevention will be effective only if they are used systematically.

It should not be forgotten that in the periods of epidemics, the victims of diseases are primarily weakened people.

The risk group can include people with any chronic diseases that are prone to stressful situations, malnourished people who abuse alcohol.

Particular attention should be paid to yourself in the spring, when the body after a prolonged cold period is in a weakened state. At this time, when everything in nature comes to life, a person often starts the so-called spring depression. Causes of spring fatigue may be the consequences of the transferred colds, lack of sleep, lack of sunlight, vitamin deficiency.

Gradually accumulating, these negative factors become especially noticeable in the spring. It's not always possible to change something dramatically in your life (for example, to quit a bored job).

Therefore, you can try to start with what is quite affordable: rearrange furniture, if possible buy new things, and from the old ones - get rid of, plant new home plants, etc.

All this will certainly improve your mental state. But if all the same you did not manage to overcome the spring crisis and you became ill, then take all possible measures for a speedy recovery.
