New postcodes in Ukraine


Since 2000, Ukraina has been switching to five-tiered postal codes (international stan- dard). From August 1, 1999 to January 1, 2000, on the territory of Ukraine, they act as old, and new indexes as well. The new postal code of Donetsk post office is 83,000.

If you live, for example, on the 50th Donetsk branch, then your index is 83050, 103 is the communication department - 83103, etc. Tell all of your senders a new index, as long as it is not known exactly what will happen to the letters with old indexes after 01.01.2000 (it is not excluded that they will return to the sender). It's better not to risk it.

At the moment, the "Ukraina postal index handbook" has been released. It should appear on all post offices. On all issues of interest, you can contact your postal offices, the duty administrator of the post office - tel. 335-80-15 or in the control postal office post office - tel. 92-32-34.
