And the sons of the prophets said to Elisha, Behold, the place where we dwell with you is cramped for us;
Let us go to the Jordan and take from there every one of the logs and make ourselves a place to live there. He said: go.
And he said one thing: do mercy, go also with your servants. And he said: I will go.
And he went with them, and came to the Jordan, and began to cut down the trees.
And when one felled a log, its ax fell into the water. And he cried out and said: "Ah, my lord!" But he was taken to the support!
th And the man of God said, "Where did he fall?" He showed him the place. And he chopped [a piece of] the tree and threw it there, and an ax emerged.
th And he said: Take it to yourself. He stretched out his hand and took it.

The king of Syria went into war against Israel, and consulted with his servants, saying: in such and such a place I will place my camp.
And the man of God sent to the king of Israel to say, Take heed to pass by this place, for there the Syrians have lain down.
And the king of Israel sent to the place of which the man of God had spoken to him, and had warned him; And I saved myself there more than once or twice.
eleven And the heart of the king of Syria was alarmed in this case, and he called his servants and said to them: Tell me, who of our [in intercourse] with the king of Israel?
And one of his servants said: No man, my lord the king; And Elisha the prophet who is in Israel, retells the king of Israel and the words that you say in your bedroom.

And he said: Go, find out where he is; I will send and take it. And they told him and said: behold, he is in Dothaim.
And he sent horses and chariots there, and many armies. And they came by night and surrounded the city.
In the morning the servant of the man of God arose and went out; And behold, an army round about the city, and horses and chariots. And his servant said to him: Alas! My lord, what shall we do?
And he said: Do not be afraid, because those who are with us are more than those who are with them.
th And Elisha prayed, and said: Lord! Open his eyes so that he can see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the servant, and he saw, and, behold, the whole mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
When the Syrians went to him, Elisha prayed to the Lord and said: "Kill them with blindness." And He smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, nor that city; Follow me, and I will take you to the man you are looking for. And he brought them to Samaria.
When they came to Samaria, Elisha said: "Lord!" Open their eyes so that they can see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw that they were in the midst of Samaria.
And the king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, Shall not I beat them, my father?
And he said: Do not kill. Did you take them with your sword and your bow to kill them? Offer them bread and water; Let them eat and drink, and go to their sovereign.
And he prepared for them a great dinner, and they ate and drank. And he sent them away, and went to his master. And the more hordes of the Syrians went no more to the land of Israel.

After this, Benhadad the king of Syria assembled all his army and came forward, and besieged Samaria.
And there was a great famine in Samaria, when they laid siege to it, so that the donkey's head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of the cab of pigeon droppings was five shekels of silver.
th One day the king of Israel walked along the wall, and the woman with a howl said to him: "Help me, my lord the king."
th And he said: If the Lord will not help you, what will I help you with? With the threshing floor, with sharpening?
And the king said to her, "What are you?" And she said: This woman said to me: "Give your son, we will eat him today, and we will eat our son tomorrow."
And we boiled my son, and ate him. And I said to her the next day: "Give your son, and eat him." But she hid her son.
thirty The king, after hearing the words of the woman, tore his clothes; And he passed through the wall, and the people saw that sackcloth was on his body.
And he said: May God do this to me, and more will do if the head of Elisha, the son of Safat, remains on him today.
Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. And the king sent a man from him. Before the messenger came to him, he told the elders: "Do you see that this son of the murderer sent me to take my head off?" Look, when the messenger comes, close the door and press it with the door. And here is the tramping of his master's feet behind him!
He also talked with them, and the messenger came to him, and said: This is the calamity of the Lord! What shall I wait from the Lord?
