1 These are the words that Moses spoke to all Israel beyond the Jordan in the wilderness in the plain against Sufa, between Pharaoh and Tophel, and Laban, and Haziroth, and Dizahab,
2 In the distance of eleven days from Horeb, on the road from Mount Seir to Kadesh-Barni.
3 For the fortieth year, the eleventh month, on the first day of the month, Moses spake unto the children of Israel all that the Lord commanded them concerning them.
4 By the murder of Sihon, king of the Amorites, who lived in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who lived in Ashteroth at Edrei,
5 Beyond the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moses began to explain this law and said:
6th The Lord our God spoke to us in Horeb and said: "It is your duty to live in this mountain!"
7th Go and go to the mountain of the Amorites, and to all their neighbors, to the plains, to the mountain, to the low places, and to the south edge, and to the shores of the sea, to the land of Canaan and to Lebanon, even to the great river, the river Euphrates;
8 Behold, I give you this land, go, take for a land a land which the LORD swore to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their descendants. "

9 And I said to you at that time: I can not lead you alone;
10 The Lord your God has multiplied you, and, behold, you are now as numerous as the stars of heaven;
eleven The Lord God of your fathers multiplies you a thousand times against how many you [now], and bless you, as He said to you:
12 How can I bear your burdens alone, your burdens and your quarrels?
13 Choose your wise, reasonable and experienced men according to the tribes of your husbands, and I will make them your rulers.
14 You answered me and said: you are doing a good deed.
15 And I took the chief of your tribes, the wise men, and the tried ones, and made them rulers over you, the captains of thousands, the captains of hundreds, the fiftieth princes, the rulers of the ten tribes, and the superintendents according to your tribes.
16 And I commanded your judges at that time, saying, Hear your brothers, and judge justly, like a brother and a brother, and his stranger;
17th Do not distinguish persons in judgment, listen to them small and great: do not be afraid of the face of man, for judgment is the work of God; And the matter that is difficult for you, bring to me, and I will listen to it.
18 And I commanded you at that time about all that you should do.

19 And we departed from Horeb, and walked through all this great and terrible desert that you saw, on the way to the Mount of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded, and came to Kadesh-barnea.
20 And I said unto you, Ye have come unto the mount of the Amorites, which the LORD our God gives unto us;
21 Behold, the Lord your God is giving you this land, go, take it as a possession, as the Lord God of your fathers said to you, do not be afraid and do not be terrified.
22 But you all came to me and said: "We'll send people before us, so that they will explore the land and bring us news of the road along which to go to us, and about the cities in which to go to us."
23 I liked the word, and I took twelve of you, one from each of the tribes.
24 They went, went up to the mountain and reached the valley of Eshcol, and they saw it;
25 And they took the fruits of the earth into their hands and delivered it to us, and brought us news, and said, "The land that the LORD our God gives us is good."
26th But you did not want to go and opposed the command of the Lord your God,
27th And murmured in your tents, and said: The LORD hated us, and brought us up out of the land of Egypt, to give us into the hand of the Amorites, and to destroy us.
28 where will we go? Our brethren weakened our heart, saying: "The people are greater than us, the cities are large and with fortifications to the heavens, and we saw the sons of Anak there."
29 And I said unto you, Do not be afraid, neither be afraid of them;
thirty The Lord your God is coming before you; He will fight for you, as He did to you in Egypt, before your eyes,
31 And in this wilderness, where, as you saw, the Lord your God carried you as a man wears his son in all the way that you passed before your coming to this place.
32 But even so, you did not believe the Lord your God,
33 Which went before you in the way - to seek you places where you stay, at night in the fire, to show you the way, on which to go, and in the daytime in the cloud.
34 And the Lord heard your words, and was angry, and swore, saying,
35 None of these people, of this evil kind, will see the good land that I swore to give to your fathers;
36 Only Caleb the son of Jephunneh will see her; I will give him the land that he passed through, and his sons, because he obeyed the Lord.
37 And the LORD was angry with me for you, saying, "You also will not go in there;
38 Joshua the son of Nun, who is with you, he will go in there; Assert him, for he will bring Israel into her possession;
39 Your children, of whom you have said that they will be taken as prey to your enemies, and your sons who do not know now neither good nor evil; they will enter there, they will give it, and they will possess it;
40 And you turn and go into the desert on the way to the Red Sea.
41 And you answered then, and said to me: We have sinned against the Lord; let us go and fight, as the LORD our God commanded us. And you girded, each with his weapons of arms, and foolishly dared to ascend the mountain.
42 But the Lord said to me: Tell them: do not come and do not fight, because there is no Me among you, lest your enemies strike you.
43 And I told you, but you did not listen and opposed the command of the Lord and went to the mountain by their obstinacy.
44 And the Amorite, who lived on that mountain, came up against you, and pursued you as the bees do, and struck you in Seir until Hormah.
45 And you returned and wept before the LORD: but the LORD did not hear your cry, and did not hearken to you.
46 And you stayed in Kadesh for a long time, how long you were there.
