And Sarah was a hundred and twenty-seven years: [here] years of the life of Sarah;
And Sarah died in Kirjath-Arba, which [now] Hebron in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah and to weep for her.

And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spoke to the sons of Heth, saying:
I have stranger and a sojourner; give me a possession [place] on [for] a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
The sons of Heth answered Abraham, saying to him:
Hear us, my lord; you are a mighty prince among us; in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulcher for burying thy dead.
Abraham rose and bowed to the people of the land, the sons of Heth;
and I spoke to them and said, if you agree that I should bury my dead, hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar,
That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he had at the end of his field; for the price let him give it to me among you for a possession of a burial.
Ephron was sitting in the midst of the sons of Heth; and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the sons of Heth, all in at the gate of his city, and said:
eleven No, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give you, in the sight of the sons of my people I give it to you. Bury your dead.
Abraham bowed before the people of the land
and he spoke to Ephron loud people of the land, and said, if you listen, I give you the money for the field; take it of me, and I bury my dead there.
Ephron answered Abraham and said to him:
My lord! hearken unto me: the land [is worth] four hundred shekels of silver; for me and it is for you? Bury your dead.

Abraham listened to Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, as he announced the hearing of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, what goes with the merchant.
And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah before Mamre, the field and the cave that is in it, and all the trees that were in the field, in all the borders round about,
Abraham for a possession before the eyes of the sons of Heth, all in at the gate of his city.
After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre, which [now] Hebron in the land of Canaan.
So Abraham got from the children of Heth field and the cave that is in it, in the possession of a burial.
