In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, this was the word to Jeremiah from the LORD: |

So the Lord said to me: "Make you bonds and yokes, and lay them on your neck." |

|
And they went to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the sons of Ammon, and to the king of Tire, and to the king of Sidon, through messengers that had come to Jerusalem to Zedekiah king of Judah. |

And command them to say unto their masters: Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Thus shall ye say unto your masters: |
| 5
|
I created the earth, the man and the animals that are on the face of the earth, with my great power and my outstretched arm, and gave it to someone I pleased. |

|
And now I give all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar, the king of Babylon, my servant, and I even give the beasts of the field to him for service. |
| 7th
|
And all the nations shall serve him and his son and his son's son, until the time comes for his land and himself; And many nations and great kings will serve him. |
| 8
|
And if any nation and kingdom refuse to serve him, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and will not bow his captivity under the yoke of the king of Babylon, this people I will punish with sword, famine and plague, says the Lord, until I destroy them with his hand. |

|
And do not listen to your prophets and your diviners, your dreamers, your wizards, and your astrologers who say to you: "You will not serve the king of Babylon." |
| 10
|
For they prophesy to you a lie, to remove you from your land, and that I cast you out and you perish. |

|
But the people who will bow their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will leave in my land, says the Lord, and he will cultivate it and live on it.

|
And Zedekiah king of Judah, I spoke with all these words, and said: "Bow your neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people, and you will live." |

|
Why should you die and your people from the sword, famine and pestilence, as the Lord spoke about the people who will not serve the king of Babylon? |

|
And do not listen to the words of the prophets who say to you: "You shall not serve the king of Babylon"; For they prophesy to you a lie. |
| 15
|
I did not send them, says the Lord; And they prophesy falsely in my name, that I should drive you out and that you perish, -you and your prophets who prophesy to you. |
| 16
|
And to the priests and to all this people, I said: Thus says the Lord: Do not listen to the words of your prophets who prophesy to you and say: "Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord are soon returned from Babylon"; For they prophesy to you a lie. |

Do not listen to them, serve the king of Babylon and live; Why bring this city to destruction? |
| 18
|
And if they are prophets, and if they have the word of the Lord, then let them intercede before the Lord of hosts, that the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem shall not pass over to Babylon. |
| 19
|
For thus says the LORD of hosts about the pillars and the [brass] sea and the footsteps and other things that remain in this city, |
| 20
|
Whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon did not take, when Jeconiah, the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah, brought all the noble Jews and Jerusalemites from Jerusalem to Babylon, |

|
For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remain in the house of the Lord, and in the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem: |
| 22
|
They will be carried to Babylon and there will remain until the day when I will visit them, says the Lord, and I will bring them out and bring them back to this place. |
