But the children of Israel have committed a crime [and have taken] from the sworn. Achan the son of Charmiah the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah of the tribe of Judah, took from the accursed, and the anger of the Lord was kindled against the children of Israel.
Jesus from Jericho sent people to Gaius, near Beth-Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and said to them, "Go and search the land." They went and inspected Guy.
And when they returned to Jesus, they said to him, "All the people shall not go, but let two or three thousand people go around and hit Gaius; All the people do not trouble there, for they are few [there].
So about three thousand people went there from the people, but they turned to flight from the residents of Gaisky;
The inhabitants of Gaisky killed from them up to thirty-six men, and pursued them from the gate to Sevarim and defeated them on the descent from the mountain; Why the heart of the people melted and became like water.

th Jesus tore his clothes and fell on his face to the ground before the ark of the Lord [and lay] until the evening, he and the elders of Israel, and sprinkled their heads with dust.
th And Jesus said: O Lord God! Why hast thou translated this people through the Jordan, that they might deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, and destroy us? Oh, if we stayed and lived beyond the Jordan!
Oh my God! What shall I say to me after Israel has turned the rear of its enemies?
The Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the earth will hear and surround us and exterminate our name from the earth. And what will you do for your great name?

The Lord said to Jesus, "Arise, why did you fall on your face?"
eleven Israel sinned, and they transgressed my covenant, which I commanded them; And they took from the sworn, and stole, and hid it, and put it between their things;
Therefore the children of Israel could not stand before their enemies, and turned their backs to their enemies, for they fell under an incursion; I will not be more with you, if you do not destroy from the midst of your accursed.
Arise, sanctify the people and say: Sanctify yourself in the morning, for thus says the Lord God of Israel: 'Sworn in the midst of thee, O Israel; Therefore, thou canst not stand before thine enemies, until thou hast given the sworn away from thee;
Tomorrow come up according to your tribes; But the tribe which the Lord will show, let him come according to the tribes; The tribe that the Lord will show, let him come according to the families; A family that the Lord will show, let him fit one person;
And he that is condemned in the abduction shall be burned with fire, his and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of the Lord and has committed iniquity among Israel.

And Jesus rose early in the morning, and commanded Israel to come near his tribes, and the tribe of Judah was indicated;
th Then he commanded the tribes of Judah to approach, and the tribe of Zara was told; Ordered Zarin to come to the tribe according to the families, and Zavdievo's family is indicated;
He commanded one man to approach his family, and Achan, the son of Charmiah, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was indicated.
Then Jesus said to Achan: My son! Give glory to the LORD, the God of Israel, and make confession to him, and tell me what you have done; Do not hide it from me.
In response to Jesus, Achan said: for sure, I sinned against the Lord God of Israel and did this and that:
Between the booty I saw one fine Shinar garment and two hundred shekels of silver and an ingot of gold weighing fifty shekels; I fell in love with it and I took it; And, behold, it is hidden in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver is under it.
Jesus sent men, and they ran into the tent; And, behold, it was hidden in his tent, and the silver under him.
They took it from the tent and brought it to Jesus and to all the sons of Israel and laid them before the Lord.
Jesus and all Israel with him took Achan, Zarin's son, and silver, and clothing, and an ingot of gold, and his sons and his daughters, and his oxen and his asses, and his sheep and his tent, and all that he had [ Was], and led them to the valley of Achor.
And Jesus said: Because thou hast brought trouble upon us, the LORD treadeth upon thee in this day. And all Israel smote him with stones, and burned them with fire, and hammered stones upon them.
th And they threw a large pile of stones on him, [which survived] to this day. After this the fierce anger of the Lord ceased. Therefore that place is called the valley of Achor even to this day.
