Scope of the RCD

The recommendations can be used by specialists in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of electrical installations of residential buildings, industrial buildings, commercial enterprises, public buildings, agricultural, residential and public buildings, RV and parking for them, construction sites, entertainment facilities, fairs and other temporary structures, building with a metal or metal frame.

RCD is used for the assembly of input switching (ASP), distribution boards (Distribution board), the group boards (residential and floor), installed in public buildings - kindergartens, schools, vocational, secondary, vocational and higher educational institutions, hotels, , spas, motels, libraries, indoor sports and health and fitness facilities, swimming pools, saunas, theaters, clubs, cinemas, shops, public catering, consumer services, shopping pavilions, kiosks, etc., of residential buildings - individual and apartment, cottages, garden houses, hostels, residential areas, etc., office buildings, industrial buildings - shops, shops, gas stations, car washes, hangars, garages, warehouses, etc., as well as to protect individual consumers electricity.

The use of an RCD is appropriate and justified by social and economic reasons in the electrical potential of all kinds and for various purposes.

The cost of installing the RCD disproportionately less potential damage - death and personal injury from electrical shock, burns, fires and their consequences that occurred due to the wiring and electrical faults. If we consider that the cost of the RCD does not exceed the cost of a simple household appliance and any damage is estimated huge sums, it becomes quite obvious and does not require additional evidence and the need for speedy implementation of the new generation of wide RCD in all installations.

The exception is electrical, not allowing for technological reasons, a power interruption. In such installations for the protection of people against other electroprotective measures should be applied an electric shock.

Gosenergonadzor bodies, State Fire Supervision and Energosbyt agree on the design documentation, carry out certification of electrical installations of residential buildings, the acceptance of objects in operation only when the mandatory use of RCDs.
