WHY AFRAID OF SCIENTISTS patented invention
Institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences hold only 5% of all patents issued in the last year in Russia.
Capital institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences is significantly lagging behind their Siberian counterparts in the number of patents for inventions. Among the first ten institutes of Russian Academy of Sciences - patent holders they simply do not. A total of 30 thousand filed in the last year of patent applications only 500 were presented RAS institutes. This was told at a recent II-th Moscow International Chemical Summit head.

According to him the leader in the number of active patents with the Institute of Catalysis of the SB RAS, which owns 249 active patents, followed by the Institute of Mining of SB RAS (146 active patents). In general, the vast majority of patents owned by chemical and mining institute of Ufa, Tomsk, Apatity, Yakutsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur, Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. The share of institutes of the Siberian Branch of RAS accounts for 49% of all patents.
The passivity of the metropolitan institutions academician explained the possibility of earning in other ways. The general dislike of the academic institutions for registration of patents, he connects with the financial problems of low patent culture, organizational factors (including the closure of many organizations of patent offices). But perhaps the biggest obstacle - the prestige of patents compared to scientific publications. It turns out that in assessing the effectiveness of the presence of an academic institute patents generally not taken into account. Scientists themselves, participating in the summit work, admitted that they are afraid of theft of a patented invention in Russia by foreign companies.
Another problem associated with the introduction of innovations in Russia - the lack of an established exchange of information between scientists and industry. General Director of JSC "Tatneftehim-invest-holding" raffinate Yarullin urged scientists to inform manufacturers of their designs, which can serve as a basis for cooperation. He admitted that the holding company has a stabilization fund of several billion rubles, which can be used for these purposes. He really found his ignorance in the "scientific" works, informed the audience that the country has no microbiological industry nor a science, but "Tatneftehim she is very interested." Clarification on this issue immediately presented Head of Chemistry of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Jaroslavtsev, saying that in the field of refinery, petrochemical and microbiology RFBR have 10 thousand proposals from different institutions.
