INVENTION
Patent of the Russian Federation RU2288200
CERAMIC MASS TO OBTAIN BRICK
The name of the inventor: Abdrakhimova Elena Sergeevna (RU); Abdrakhimov Vladimir Zakirovich (RU)
The name of the patent holder: State Educational Establishment of Higher Professional Education "Samara State University of Architecture and Construction" (SASU) (RU)

Date of commencement of the patent: 2005.02.22
The invention relates to the building materials industry, mainly to mass compositions for the production of ceramic bricks. The technical result of the invention is to reduce the shrinkage and water absorption of the ceramic mass. This technical result is achieved by the fact that the ceramic mass contains a clayey part of the "tails" of gravity of zircon-ilmenite ores and a calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray iron, with the following ratio of the components in mass%: the clayey part of the "tails" of gravity of the zircon-ilmenite ores is 50- 80, calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray cast iron - 20-50. The use of industrial waste in the production of bricks contributes to their utilization, environmental protection and the expansion of the raw material base for building ceramic materials.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the building materials industry, mainly to mass compositions for the production of ceramic bricks.
A ceramic mass is known for producing a brick of the following composition, wt.%: Loess-like loam 91-97, coal fines 1-3, water-slag slag 2-6 [1].
A disadvantage of this composition is the relatively low frost resistance of 18-26 cycles.
The closest to the invention is a ceramic mass for the manufacture of bricks, comprising the following components, by weight: the clayey part of the "tails" of gravity of zircon-ilmenite ores (HCI) 50-80, the overburden overburden clay-shales 20-50 [2 ]. Adopted for the prototype.
The disadvantage of this composition of the ceramic mass is a high shrinkage of 7.8-8.5, which promotes deformation distortion of the brick, and water absorption of 15.2-18.8.
The object of the invention is to reduce the shrinkage and water absorption of the ceramic mass.
This goal is achieved by the fact that the known ceramic mass, including the clay part of the "tails" of gravity of the zircon-ilmenite ores, additionally contains a calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray iron with the following component ratio, by weight: clay part of the "tails" of gravity zircon-ilmenite ores 50 -80, calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray cast iron 20-50
As a waker and a smelt for reducing shrinkage and water absorption, calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray cast iron was used. It is known that CaO, despite its high melting point, in clay-containing masses is a strong melting point due to the formation of relatively low-melting compounds with Al 2 O 3 and SiO 2 . Therefore, calcium-containing slag from the smelting of gray cast iron is used in place of the traditional costly natural fluids, such as chalk, dolomite and other calcium-containing components. The chemical composition of the components is given in Table 1.
Ceramic mass was prepared by plastic method at a moisture content of 18-22%. The formed brick was dried to a residual moisture content of 5-7%. The dried brick was fired at a temperature in the range of 1000-1050 ° C. Table 2 shows the compositions of ceramic masses, and in Table 3, the physical and mechanical properties of ceramic bricks.
As can be seen from Table 3, the introduction of calcium-containing slag into the compositions of the ceramic slag from the smelting of gray cast iron helps to reduce the shrinkage and water absorption of the brick.
The use of calcium-containing slag in the composition of ceramic masses from the smelting of gray cast iron will make it possible to obtain a low-shrinkage brick with low water absorption from waste products without the use of natural traditional raw materials.
The use of waste products in the production of bricks contributes to the recycling of industrial waste, environmental protection and the expansion of raw materials for building ceramic materials.
