METHOD OF EXTRACTION OF PLATINUM (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions. Russian Federation Patent RU1809969

DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The invention relates to methods for extraction of platinum (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions and can be used in technology for the most efficient and selective separation of platinum (IV) complex salt of systems, and for concentrating during the quantitative determination of metal in the process and natural objects.

The purpose of the invention increase the efficiency and selectivity of the sorption extraction platinum (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions over a wide range of concentrations of hydrochloric acid. The goal is achieved by using organosilicon sorbent PTAS-3.

Organosilicon sorbent PTAS-3 is a cross-linked organosilicon polymer with carbofunctional thioacetamide groups of poly (silseskvioksanilpropiltioatsetamid) repeat unit which has the following structure

METHOD OF EXTRACTION OF PLATINUM (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions. Russian Federation Patent RU1809969

Sorbent PTAS drug-3 white, insoluble in water and organic solvents.

Summary of the invention comprises contacting a hydrochloric acid solution of platinum (IV) at room temperature with the sample-sorbent PTAS 3 in static or dynamic mode adsorption for 60 min.

The positive effect of the invention is the possibility of the platinum extraction (IV) from solutions in a wide HCl concentration range (I-II M), a significant efficiency platinum extraction (IV) (CCE PTAS-3 platinum in a solution of 3 M HCl is 290 mg / l compared with CCE PSTM-3 under the same conditions of 100 mg / g). The proposed method possesses greater selectivity for the platinum (IV) in comparison with the prototype. Thus, the quantitative recovery of platinum (IV) using 3-PTAS achieved against the background of a 106-fold amount of amount of base metals: Cu, Zn, Pb, Fe (III), Co, Ni. In the case of sorptive separation of platinum (IV) using 3-PSTM sorbent selectivity is observed to a maximum of 105-fold excess of non-noble metals.

example 1
Synthesis of the sorbent. In a three-necked flask equipped with a stirrer, a condenser and a dropping funnel, 0.1 g of KOH in 30 ml of water and 3.3 g of (3-tioatsetamidopropil) triethoxysilane. The mixture was placed in a boiling water bath. When this occurs immediately the formation of the polymer product as a white crystalline solid. The polymer was filtered, washed with water and ether, and dried in a vacuum desiccator to constant weight. Polymer yield 90% of the polymer composition and structure confirmed by elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy.

According to the differential thermogravimetric analysis sorbent PTAS-3 is thermally stable up to 200 ° C.

example 2
Organosilicon Weigh 40 mg 3-PTAS sorbent were contacted for 60 minutes in a static mode with the hydrochloric acid solutions containing 2 ml of (C o) of platinum (IV) with concentration HCl, varying within M. After sorption of the polymer is separated from the solution by filtration and the filtrate is determined residual concentration of platinum (IV) (C 1) spectrophotometry. The degree of metal recovery (R) was calculated according to the formula

Table 1 shows the values of the degree of extraction of platinum (IV) depending on the concentration.

example 3
To determine the optimal time of sorption of platinum (IV) sorbent PTAS 3-sorption kinetics. For this purpose 40 mg of sorbent was concentrated under static conditions with 40 mg of 3M HCl solution containing 2 mg of platinum (IV), for a certain time. After sorption extraction degree platinum (IV) is calculated, as in Example 1.

Table. 2 shows the data determining the optimum time of sorption of platinum (IV).

example 4
Determination of static sorption capacity PTAS-3 platinum (IV) as follows. Weigh 40 mg of sorbent (0.04 g) is contacted with hydrochloric acid (3 M HCl) solution of platinum (IV) for 60 min. Starting from the difference (C o) and after sorption (C 1) of the metal content in the solution is adjusted to the amount of platinum (IV), 40 mg of the adsorbed PTAS-3. The calculation is performed on the CCE formula

The concentration of platinum (IV) in the initial solution is increased to until the CCE becomes constant value. CEE-3 sorbent PTAS on platinum (IV) 290 mg / g, the prototype 100 mg / g.

Table 3 shows the definition of three-CEE PTAS on platinum (V).

example 5
Extraction of platinum (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions in the presence of base metals. 100 mg of 3-PTAS sorbent were contacted for 60 minutes with 100 mg of a solution containing 10 g of platinum (IV) and a substantial excess of base metal Fe (III), Cu, Ni , Zn, Pb, Co in 9M hydrochloric acid.

After sorption determine the concentration of platinum (IV) in the sorbent and calculate the degree of extraction. Table 4 shows the values of the degree of extraction of platinum (IV) in the presence of base metal sorbents PSTM-3 (prior art) and 3-PTAS.

Thus, the technical and economic effect of the proposed method of extraction of platinum (IV) from hydrochloric acid solutions is determined by the high efficiency of this method due to higher sorption capacity PTAS-3 platinum (IV), and a higher selectivity in the extraction background June 10 -fold amounts makroprimesey base metal due to the possibility of sorption of Pt (IV) in highly concentrated solutions of hydrochloric acid.
