Polymer composition of hot melt adhesive for metals, in particular, for applying an insulating polymer coating on metal pipes. The hot melt adhesive contains a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate, an inorganic filler and paraffin. Alkylphenolamine or indene-coumarone resins are additionally introduced into the composition, which provides an increase in the concentration of inorganic filler up to 30% or more, the production of an environmentally friendly composition having high adhesion properties to the metal and remaining under the conditions of aqueous media and cathodic polarization on the metal.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the field of organic chemistry, namely, to polymer compositions used as hot melt adhesives for metals, in particular for applying an insulating polymer coating to metal pipes.
It is known to use isocyanates in adhesive compositions based on an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (SEEA) (see Japanese Patent No. 47-518, class C 09 J 3/14, 1972).
The composition contains, by weight.
H .:
Copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate (СЭВА) - 100
Polyisocyanate - 0.5-10
Metal soap - 0,1 -2,0
However, such compositions have low water resistance at elevated temperatures of 50-100 ° C), which results in self-peeling of the coating after 40-50 h.
A composition of glue-melt on the basis of SEVA is closer to the composition and functional purpose proposed (see av., USSR No. 954256, class B 32 B 27/30, dated 22.04.1981).
The composition contains, by mass%):
The copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate (SEBA) - 93.0 - 99.3
Paraffin - 0,2 - 2,0
Aerosil - 0.5 - 5.0
However, this composition has a low adhesion to metal (0.3 to 3.2 kg / cm) and low water resistance of the coating adhesion.
After holding for 500 hours in water at 20 ° C, the adhesion drops to a value of 0.5 - 1.0 kg / cm. In addition, the water-resistance of adhesion of coatings based on CMEA compositions falls particularly sharply in the aqueous medium when there is a cathodic polarization (potential) on the metal. It is in such conditions that all the pipelines are located during their underground laying and operation.
The object of the invention is to create an environmentally friendly composition based on SEAA having high adhesion properties to the metal and remaining under the conditions of aqueous media and cathodic polarization on the metal.
This object is achieved by a polymer composition of a hot melt adhesive based on an ethylene / vinyl acetate copolymer containing inorganic filler and paraffin. The novelty is that it additionally contains an alkylphenolamine or indene-cumarone resin, with the following proportions of the components, by weight:
Copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate (SEBA) - 20 - 60
Inorganic filler - 30 - 70
Alkylphenolamine or indene-coumarone resin - 2 - 15
Paraffin - 1 - 10
For the preparation of the composition, SEVA containing 12-20% vinyl acetate groups, grades 11306-075 or 1150-375, with a melt flow index of 7.0-40 g / 10 min, and a melting point of 80-100 ° C are used.
The composition according to the invention differs from the known ones in that it contains 30 to 70% of an inorganic filler (clay, chalk, talc, etc.), and an alkylphenolamine or indene-cumarone resin is used as the water resistance stabilizer for the polarization of the metal.
Studies of patent and scientific and technical literature have shown that such a set of essential features is new and has not been used before, this, in turn, allows us to conclude that the technical solution meets the "novelty" criterion.
The use of a high percentage of inorganic filler to produce polymer adhesive compositions is not known to us. The introduction of whiter than 70% of the inorganic filler in SELA enhances adhesion, but greatly impairs the physico-mechanical properties of the composition and makes it impossible to process it on industrial equipment. The introduction of paraffin (GOST 23683 - 89) as a plasticizer, facilitates the processing of the composition on conventional industrial equipment.
It is known that alkylphenolamine resin is a softener (chemical additives to polymers., Reference book.,: Chemistry, 1981, p. 231) of rubber products. The use of this substance as an enhancer for water resistance in adhesive compositions is not known to us. Therefore, it is not possible to assume in advance that the introduction of clay, octophor and paraffin into the polymer at the required concentrations will result in a highly adhesive, water-resistant composition.
Thus, for the production of an adhesive layer of film products with enhanced adhesion to metal and water resistance in the cathodic polarization of a metal, it has been proposed for the first time to use a polymer composition based on SEBA with a high-percentage additive of inorganic filler, additives of alkylphenolamine or indene-coumarone resin, which significantly distinguish it from Known.
In addition, the polymer composition under consideration does not contain toxic substances, and the technology of its production and the technology of applying to the metal surface do not require the use of solvents. Consequently, the proposed glue-melt is an environmentally friendly product, which is another important difference from the previously known polymer adhesives.
The essence of the proposed technical solution is explained by examples.
An example . Take SEVA brand 11306 - 075, alkylferamine resin oktophor-N according to TU 38-301-48-11-90 or indene-coumarone resin, clay kaolin according to GOST 28177-89 or chalk, or talc and paraffin according to GOST 23683-89. We load these components into the mixer of the granulation line of PLG-190 plastic in the ratios indicated in Table. 1. Then we homogenize and granulate the compositions.
Adhesion was formed on steel (St-3) plates 2 mm thick, 20 mm wide, 100 mm long, at 150 ° C for 3 min. For the experiments, a film with a thickness of 0.4 mm was used.
The film was applied to a heated substrate, then it was kept at this temperature, with further cooling to room temperature. Initial adhesion was measured one day after formation (separation angle 180 ° C). The adhesion water resistance was evaluated by holding in water at 20 ° C for 1000 hours.
In Table. 2 shows the parameters of initial adhesion, adhesion after 1000 hours of holding in water at a temperature of 20 ° C and the peeling rate for cathodic polarization of the metal compositions described in Table. 1. It can be seen that the indices improve noticeably with increasing percentage of inorganic filler. For example, the initial adhesion (composition 1) increases from 2 to 9.4 to 9.6 kg / cm (composition 7, 8, 9) at 70 to 75% of the kaolin content.
It is also seen that the proposed composition has a low speed (35 to 45 times less) peeling at the cathode polarization of the metal under load (3-7 cm 2 / h), while the prototype has a peeling rate of 250 cm 2 / h, and the industrial The composition of sevilene (N 23) of grade 113-27 (TU 6-05-041-960-88) has 330 cm 2 / h. Due to this, the hot melt does not exfoliate from the metal in water when the metal is polarized under normal conditions. Therefore, the proposed polymer composition can be used to create reliable protective anticorrosion coatings due to the stability of its properties.
Thus, the additional introduction of an alkylphenolamine or indene-cumarone resin into the composition and an increase in the concentration of inorganic filler up to 30% or more provides an environmentally friendly composition based on SEAA having high adhesion properties to the metal and remaining under the conditions of aqueous media and cathodic polarization on the metal . The release of the proposed composition is mastered at the production base of the NGO ZNOK and PPD.
