Starting date of the patent: 1998.12.11
The invention relates to the processing of precious stones, particularly diamonds processing, and may find application in the jewelery industry and various branches of engineering. Diamonds are exposed to electron beams and annealed. Annealing is carried out at atmospheric pressure or, or in an inert gas atmosphere or vacuum. The heating temperature is selected depending on the heating conditions of 300 to 1900 ° C. Heating is carried out for from 30 minutes to several hours. After treatment with electron beams joke is repeated several times until the desired shade. The method allows to obtain diamonds of red and yellow and black colors.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the processing of precious stones, particularly diamonds, and may find application in the jewelery industry and various technical fields, where diamonds are used.
From the prior art various methods for improving the crystal quality. For example, a method of improving the quality of metamorphic diamonds comprising diamonds treatment by irradiation with X-rays at atmospheric pressure and room temperature (RU 2080289 C1, C 01 B 1/06, C 30 B 33/04, 27.05.97). This produces a certain strength characteristics of diamond.
There is a method of staining of natural beryl crystals and their products, including their exposure to ionizing radiation and heat treatment (RU 95103929/25, C 30 B 33/04, 20.08.96).
A method is known of refining diamond by exposure to electron beams and annealing from several minutes to several hours to give them certain colors (JP 02184600, C 30 B 33/04, C 01 B 31/06, C 30 B 29/04, 19/07. 90).
However deinking diamond by giving them a specific color having difficulty finding an annealing mode parameters as necessary to consider initial gemological data diamonds presence of natural defects in the form of micro-inclusions which processing can act as a new color centers, the possibility of polymorphic transition diamond graphite by treatment under vacuum at a temperature of about 1900 o C, causing swelling and cracking.
The object of this invention to provide a red-yellow diamonds and black shades with maintaining their strength properties.
For this diamond is exposed by electron beams and annealed. Annealing is performed at a temperature of 300 - 1900 o C for a time from 30 minutes to several hours. Exposure to electron beams 5 10 15 - 5 × 10 18 cm -2, and then again repeat the joke. The process is repeated several times until the desired color of the diamond. Annealing before irradiation and produce diamonds to give the necessary stability of the original color shade. Selection preheating temperature depends on the environment in which it is produced, namely atmospheric annealing is performed at a temperature up to 590 o C, in an inert gas atmosphere or in vacuum at a temperature of 600 - 1100 o C, in an ultrahigh vacuum at a temperature of 1200 - 1900 o C with a pulse heating.
FASHION TECHNOLOGY ennobling DIAMONDS
It is as follows
The color of diamonds is valid color overlay principle, in practice, on painting color scheme is carried out to obtain the desired color by mixing in with the natural color of the sample "applied" by the action of electron flow of electrons in the range 5 10 15 - 5 × 10 18 cm -2, for a given time. The annealing atmosphere is performed at a temperature of 590 o C for several hours. If annealing is carried out at a high temperature, an undesirable defect appears as a rounding of the sharp edges of the diamond surface graphitization. Then again produce irradiation annealing. The predominant color temperature after exposure to one of the shades of yellow, then impact produced by electron beams, and again a joke until the desired shade.
processing modes prescribed depending on the pre-color diamond color. For example, ennobled diamond color "brown". After exposure to electron beams, new centers of color shades of green (olive) were obtained. Annealing was performed in the atmosphere in the temperature range of 450 - 590 o C for several hours with hourly observation. The result was a diamond with stable yellow color.
For canary yellow diamond processing performed in vacuum by heating to 800 o C for several hours, followed by exposure to electron beams was carried out under vacuum, then heated again in vacuum impulse at a temperature up to 800 o C, the process was repeated several times until a canary yellow.
For amber or orange or pink, or red color treatment was conducted as follows. Within an hour of heated diamond in vacuum or inert gas to a temperature of 1200 o C and then conducted a short-term heating to a temperature of 1700 - 1900 o C, while the diamond was clarified by one - two positions chrominance price list. The resulting color is quite stable and is not affected by repeated annealing. This color is taken as a basis. Further irradiation produced diamond electron beam with integral flow 10 17 cm -2, thus formed the necessary color, new color centers predominantly green. Upon subsequent annealing received diamonds predetermined colors, including black with integral flow equal to 5 × 10 18 cm -2.
