The invention relates to mechanisms for converting the motion of pistons of internal combustion engines. The technical result is to increase the efficiency of the engine. The device includes a rectilinear shaft connected to the piston by means of toothed racks and gears freely rotating on the shaft. The gears are connected to the shaft alternately by means of a friction mechanism located on the power shaft and connected to the shaft by means of a splined connection. The magnitude of the stroke of the piston is determined by the duration of contact of the gears with the shaft, which allows you to adjust the amount of compression ratio. With the neutral position of the friction device, that is, when both gears rotate freely, the cylinder is disconnected from the power shaft.
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to power and transport installations.
There are known devices for the operation of internal combustion engines with a crankshaft, providing a variable degree of compression of air or a fuel-air mixture in the engine cylinder (L. Golovanov, French version, newspaper Avtorevu, No. 2, 2005).
The disadvantage of this device is the presence of a crankshaft, which creates variable loads on the engine elements, causing increased vibration of the engine. The additional device for providing variable length of the piston stroke includes a rather complicated rocker mechanism with a powerful hydraulic cylinder, which, in the final analysis, considerably complicates the engine, increases its weight and dimensions.
The task for solving the invention is to create a device that provides reciprocating motion of the piston in the engine cylinder without using a crankshaft, the possibility of changing the compression ratio, the possibility of disconnecting the cylinder from the power shaft.
The technical result of the task is to ensure the power connection between the piston and the power shaft in all phases of the working cycle: power transmission from the power shaft to the piston at intake strokes, compression, discharge from the piston to the power shaft during the expansion stroke, providing variable in duration of the power connection of the piston and Shaft, providing interruption of the power connection between the piston and the power shaft.
The object is achieved in that in the device for operating an internal combustion engine without a crankshaft, which includes a cylinder, a cylinder head, a flywheel, a piston according to the invention, the power shaft is rectilinear with slots under each cylinder, two free-rotating gears are arranged under the shaft of each cylinder, Equipped with bearing-thrust bearings, there is located between the gears on the splines a device for frictional connection of the gears with the shaft, this device as well as the gears are provided with friction linings, the friction device is connected to the unit for controlling the friction device operation, the piston is fastened to two rack bars in constant engagement With gears on the shaft, the guide stops press the rack bars to the gears, the piston is provided with an axial guide damped support.

The technical result is realized by the device including the cylinder 1 of the internal combustion engine, the cylinder head 2, the flywheel 3, the piston 4 with the axial guide dampened support 12. The power shaft 5 is rectilinear with slots under each cylinder 1. On the shaft 5, two free-rotating gears are located under each cylinder 1 6 equipped with bearing-thrust bearings 7. When the piston 4 moves downward (toward the power shaft 5), one of the gears 6 permanently connected to the rack bars 10 is connected to the power shaft 5 by means of the friction device 8, which provides the piston rod at the suction stroke or power transmission to the power shaft during the expansion stroke. When the piston reaches its extreme position, the friction device 8 switches, stopping communication with the running gear 6 and connecting the other gear 6 to the power shaft 5. With the direction of rotation of the power shaft 5 unchanged, this gear will push the rail 10 and through it the piston 4 upwards, i.e. From the power shaft 5. When the upper end position of the piston 4 is reached, the gears 6 are reversed and the piston 4 is moving "down".
To change the length of the stroke of the piston 4, and consequently, the compression ratio in the cylinder 1, the duration of the connection of the piston 4 through the rail 10, the gear 6 and the friction device 8 to the power shaft 5 varies.
To disengage the cylinder 1, withdrawing it from operation separately from the other engine cylinders, the friction device 8 is set to a neutral position, in which both gears 6 are not connected to the power shaft 5.
In all phases of the engine operation, the guide stops 11 press the rack bars 10 against the gears 6.
This set of characteristics is sufficient in all cases of practical implementation of the device to achieve the set tasks - the work of an internal combustion engine without a crankshaft, with a variable compression ratio, with the possibility of disconnecting from the operation of individual cylinders.
The primary technical result using the invention consists in reducing the vibration of the internal combustion engine, in reducing friction losses with variable loads on the piston, increasing the efficiency of the engine in various modes, increasing the engine life due to the rational organization of the working process due to the variable compression ratio and the possibility of shutting down From the power shaft of the individual cylinders. This technical result is manifested when all the indicated essential features are realized and, ultimately, informs the object of the invention as a whole of useful qualities.
