Starting date of the patent: 1994.09.16
Use: in the gas industry and can be used on cars, sea and river vessels. The inventive gas engine with a pre- combustion chamber torch ignition, comprising a prechamber mounted in the cylinder cover at an angle to its axis, and a spark plug disposed along the axis of the cylinder with a standard electrode gap, prechamber arranged at an angle of 42-45 o and set it additional spark plug with an electrode gap of 0.28-0.34 mm, and the gap of the spark plug is the main 0.15-0.25 mm. The present invention provides an increase in efficiency of up to 39-40% and the use of any alternative gas fuels (biogas, mine gas).
DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
The invention relates to the gas industry and can be used for cars, locomotives, marine and river vessels.
Currently, a number of known gas engines with pre- combustion chamber jet ignition, is the most progressive [Transport gas. -M. Nedra, 1992, p.142] The gas engine consists of a cylinder inside which a piston moves, transferring via a crank mechanism energy of the crankshaft and further to the consumer. In the pre-chamber cylinder mounted, for example, a spherical shape and a spark plug. Prechamber is angled 90 o to the working cylinder axis.
A significant drawback of analog is a sharp decline in effective performance when used as a fuel alternative gases (sewage, biogas, mine gas).
The closest in technical essence is a gas engine type 11GD 100 [SU, N 220676, cl. F 02 M 21/04, 1965] taken by the authors as the prototype.
This gas engine with a pre- combustion chamber comprises a prechamber ignition torch mounted to the cylinder cover 90 at an angle to its axis o, and a spark plug operating cylinder disposed on axis with a standard electrode gap. When using natural gas as fuel, this engine as compared to diesel engines of this class has an absolute advantage in respect of wear and tear of the lubricating oil consumption, maintenance periods and other operating parameters.
Studies of gas engines of this type have shown that the burning of other types of alternative fuels (coal mine gas, sewage or biogas), the existing system is not acceptable, because drastically reduces the efficiency of the engine, which is a significant drawback.

To improve efficiency and reliability in the known engine with pre- combustion chamber torch ignition, comprising a prechamber mounted in the cylinder cover at an angle to its axis, and a spark plug operating cylinder disposed on axis with a standard electrode gap, pre-chamber located in the cylinder cover at an angle of 42- 45 o and in it an extra spark plug with an electrode gap of 0.28-0.34 mm, and the gap of the spark plug is the main 0.15-0.25 mm. The drawing shows a diagram of a gas engine with pre- combustion chamber jet ignition. The proposed gas engine consists of a cylinder 1, cylinder head 2, wherein the main axis of the cylinder is a spark plug electrode gap 3 with 0.28-0.34 mm in the cylinder cover 2 is provided with pre-chamber 4 at an angle of 42-45 o to the cylinder axis with an extra spark plug 5 and the gas inlet valve 6. |
ENGINE RUNNING AS FOLLOWS
On the intake stroke (in-cylinder intake mixture) is fed into the cylinder 1, a quantity of fresh gas mixture. At the same time pre-chamber 4 is blown clean gas through the gas valve 6, purged of combustion products. On the compression stroke in the pre-chamber 4 receives part of the lean gas mixture out of the cylinder 1, creating in the prechamber 4 conditions necessary for ignition. At the time of the spark at the spark plug electrodes an additional 5 mixture in the settling chamber 4 is ignited in the cylinder 1 is emitted powerful torch burning gases. The main spark plug 3 ignites the working mixture only in the immediate area to it. The main initiator of the combustion cylinder gas mixture is a torch of burning gases.
As shown by experimental studies in the proposed engine is probably highly efficient and reliable combustion (at an efficiency of 39-40%) is not only natural gas, but biogas and coal mine gas, which require a more thorough organization of the working process, in particular the gas-air mixture preparation. This preserves the cardinality indicators and temperature fields of the main piston assemblies.
CLAIM
