THE REBATTER
Flukes of Tetraonchus alascensis. The length is 2.3 mm, width 0.6 mm. Reproduction occurs in eggs, the development of which occurs in the external environment.

EPISEOLOGICAL DATA
Disease, as a rule, manifests itself in adults and large fish.

SYMPTOMS AND PATHOGENESIS
The parasite affects only the gill apparatus of fish. On the affected gills appear foci of hemorrhages and necrosis of tissues, parasitic bacteria and fungi settle. This worsens the general condition of the fish and causes their death.

DIAGNOSIS
The disease is diagnosed on the basis of the results of a parasitological analysis of fish.

TREATMENT
Preparations for adding aquarium water:

  • 8 mg of chlorophos per 10 liters of water;
  • 15 mg of copper sulfate per 10 liters of water;
  • 0.03 g rivanol for 10 liters of water.

Baths:
  • 0,2 - 0,5 g of table salt per 10 liters of water, holding time 20 - 25 minutes;
  • 0.2 g potassium permanganate per 10 liters of water, aging 20 - 25 minutes.


Baths are repeated several times every two to three days. After the bath, the fish are transplanted into a well-vented or flowing aquarium with fresh, settled water to remove mucus and dead parasites.

PREVENTION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
Carry out disinfection of the aquarium with a solution of common salt, baking soda, treat manufacturers with trypaflavin or 3% solution of common salt, aging for 5 minutes. Attention ! An overdose of chlorophos and copper sulfate can adversely affect fish.
