SYMPTOMS AND PATHOGENESIS
The body of diseased fish is covered with abscesses, the size of which varies from 0.5 to 2 cm. The abscesses are at first hard, then softened, burst and leave behind them deep festering wounds, penetrating only the skin, but also the musculature. Affected fish die from general exhaustion, often accompanied by secondary bacterial infections.

DIAGNOSIS
The disease is diagnosed only with the help of a microscope, which allows to see the characteristic spores of the parasite.

TREATMENT
The disease is incurable. Measures of struggle are reduced to isolation and destruction of diseased specimens.
