INFECTIOUS DISEASES

LIVING DISEASE

THE REBATTER
Bacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens. It has the form of a short cocco-shaped mobile rod with one flagellum, a length of 0.7 μm, a width of 0.4 μm. Does not form spores and capsules.

EPISEOLOGICAL DATA
The disease is most threatened by the labyrinthine, neon, barbs, scaly, viviparous and some other fish, affecting mainly the fry.

SYMPTOMS AND PATHOGENESIS
The bacterium causes inflammation of the skin and muscle tissue with the formation of abscesses of the type of furuncles in the form of dark spots, the opening of which forms bleeding ulcers. In parallel with the appearance of ulcers, inflammation of the intestine can occur. Untimely treatment leads to the death of fish.

DIAGNOSIS
The disease is diagnosed by symptoms and on the basis of bacteriological examination.

TREATMENT
Preparations for entering into aquarium water:

  • 1.5 g of white streptocide per 10 liters of water;
  • 500,000 ED of bicillin-5 per 100 liters of water (at night 6 - 7 days in a row at a temperature of 24 - 26 degrees, unless streptocide was applied to the aquarium).

After 6-7 days, replace part of the water and repeat the treatment.
Baths:

  • 0.5 g potassium permanganate for 10 liters of water, aging is 10 - 20 minutes, the procedure is repeated every 12 hours (not recommended for mollies, sword, guppies);
  • 0.3 g of potassium permanganate for 10 liters of water, aging for 10 minutes, repeat the procedure every 12 hours (for the above fish species).
