Food for large cichlids

What to feed the large cichlids.
Hazzy beef, heart, fish, unpeopled crocks (which are green in the frozen form), meat of squid. A very good type is the meat of the two-folded mollusks. Also tadpoles, frogs, tritons - only they have to be processed for decontamination.
It is also known that all the large cichlids are to some extent vegetative. As a vegetative supplement, lettuce and dandelion leaves, spinach (cooked with frozen milk, it is convenient to use it for winter). As a substitute - gerkules. It is best to meat or fish, animal basis in general, to pass through a meatpipe along with hercules and add some multivitamins, such as tetravitam. Then all this is divided into potsii and freezes. You can buy gorbushu, cut out fillets from it, cut into pieces and freeze. Pisces will last a very long time. However, with such food you need to be more careful, since such an uneaten corpus rotes extremely fast and terribly spoils the water.
Actually, all this is only for large cichlids, such as akap, astronotus, large cichlases, which are traditionally cumbersome to be paid for.

Most aquarists feed their fish with live or branded dry food. However, in some cases this is unprofitable, or impossible for other reasons. In this case, you can make food yourself, and the benefits of recipes are many.
One of the oldest options is a beef heartfish (in general, all fodder for fish should contain a minimum of animal fat - the heart just refers to such foods). Before cooking, the heart is cleaned of all unnecessary inclusions - films, fat, blood clots, then cut into small pieces and frozen. After freezing, the pieces must be scrolled in a meat grinder, put the resulting mass in a thin layer on a tray and then slightly freeze (if pieces of fat are visible, they should be removed!). Then, this mass is repeatedly passed through a meat grinder and laid out with a layer of 1-1.5 cm on a shallow tray, which is placed in the freezer (hint!) For a longer storage of the food, it should be spread out in a thin layer over a piece of polyethylene, covered with another piece, twisted in the form of a roll, Air and in this form to store in the freezer). Then, as necessary, scrape pieces of the right size, which we feed the fish with.
A more appropriate option is to prepare food from seafood - for example squid. Mantle of squid for 1 min. Is kept in salted boiling water, then it is cleaned of films, scrolled twice in a meat grinder, washed in a tight net and frozen, as described above. Frozen food is cut with a knife or three on a grater.
In addition, in shops you can buy a "sea cocktail" - there are shrimps, various shellfish, slices of squid, fish ... You can prepare them according to the above scheme. In feeds of animal origin, it is very good to add different vegetable feeds - oats, salad, nettle, etc. And to enhance the color of fish, many experts recommend adding pepper and carrots. Here is one of these recipes:
1. one beef heart
2. one pink salmon
3. about 500 grams of squid
4. two red bell peppers
5. grams of 100 lettuce leaves
6. 2-3 carrots
7. 100 grams of cabbage
8. Hercules
The heart and squid are cleaned, as described above, from the pink salmon we make fillets. Vegetables are well mine and cut into pieces, the oats are washed from the mud. All components are passed through a meat grinder. In the received forcemeat it is quite good to add 1-2 depleted multivitamin tablets (only without an envelope!). All this is frozen, as described above - and the supply of food is ready for some time!
One more variant of such forage:
1. 5 kg of cod
2. 5 kg of squid
3. 2-2.5 kg of sea cocktail
4. lightly sprinkle with spirulina
5. 3 - 4 tbsp. Tablespoons wheat bran
6. 1 kg of green spinach
7. 2-3 pcs. Bulgarian pepper (sweet naturally)
All this is prepared in the same way and frozen. All these feeds when used give a small haze, so it is recommended when preparing to add a little gelatin to the food.
Many fish require a large amount of plant food in the diet. They can be given scalded or slightly boiled in boiling water leaves of cabbage, lettuce, nettle, dandelion. All this can also be frozen in a thin layer in polyethylene and fed in winter as needed.
Of the other products of vegetable origin, you can use a variety of cereals scalded (semolina) or lightly boiled (pyshenka).
All of the above types of feed very quickly break the balance in the aquarium (as opposed to brand dry) in case of an overdose, so you need to take care that the food is eaten immediately, and not eaten up the leftovers.
