On Sunday evening, December 8, in Kiev, a group of unidentified masked men demolished a monument to Lenin who stood on Bessarabska Square not far from Khreshchatyk Street. After that, the protesters destroyed the monument with a sledgehammer.

The head of the KSCA, Alexander Popov, called the demolition of the monument to Lenin an act of vandalism. At the same time, the Foreign Ministers of Poland and Sweden approved the demolition of the monument.
