A supply of fuel from Russia has not yet been established. “The main reasons are objective - we do not have a form of payments with the Russian Federation, there are no ruble bills. UPD: 09/04/2014 At night, Russian troops regrouped at the borders of Ukraine. Separatists received a request to organize a "corridor", - Tymchuk
During the night of April 8-9, the tense situation remained in the eastern regions of Ukraine.
About it on the page on a social network Facebook was written by the head of the Center of military and political researches, the representative of the Information Resistance group Dmitry Tymchuk.
“According to our data, Russian troops in the 200-km border zone made a regrouping. However, no direct attempts were made to cross the state border by units and subunits of the Russian army. Before 05.00 am, the separatists received requests to organize a“ corridor ”at the state border,” he writes.
According to Tymchuk, the scenario was reduced to the fact that separatist groups had to neutralize our border guards on one of the country roads in the Luhansk region and track the movement of Ukrainian troops near the border. Providing, thus, unimpeded passage of Russian troops into Ukrainian territory. So that then the Russian military would come to the aid of the separatists who captured the administrative building in the cities of eastern Ukraine (the "green men" option).
“As we noted earlier, the invasion in the form of a“ full-fledged ”offensive by the Russian troops was not planned. Ukrainian border guards took measures to strengthen the protection of the state border. Parts of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were also redeployed to the border areas. At the moment, the scenario planned by the Russian side has not been implemented. However this does not mean that the enemy will not try to realize it again. We are monitoring the situation, "the military expert emphasizes.
UPD: 09/04/2014 The European Union has expanded the "black list" of Russians to 107 people - media
The European Union may apply visa and financial sanctions against Russian citizens. The expanded list consists of 107 people and includes almost all of the country's top political leaders, according to Kommersant.
At the disposal of journalists was a five-page document with the names of citizens of the Russian Federation, who may be banned from entering the European Union and whose assets there may be arrested. It is called the "Non-exhaustive list of Russian individuals and organizations responsible or involved in actions or decisions that undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine." In addition to 107 names, five organizations contributed to the list.
New personalized sanctions may, according to sources from the publication in Brussels, be introduced before the stage of economic restrictions - the decision to expand the blacklist can be made at the suggestion of the foreign ministers of EU countries. Persons involved in the list are divided into five groups.
As notes the edition, first of all members of legislative bodies enter. In particular, deputy chairmen of the Federation Council, Alexander Torshin and Ilyas Umakhanov, all members of the Federation Council’s international affairs committee and the Federation Council’s defense and security committee, the entire structure of the State Duma Council, as well as a number of deputies from various committees, including Alexei Pushkov and Vladimir Komoyedov.
In the second group there are members of the executive authorities, all permanent and non-permanent members of the RF Security Council, with the exception of President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev and Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The third group includes representatives of power structures. These included high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Defense (including Deputy Minister Anatoly Antonov, Head of the Main Directorate for International Military Cooperation Sergey Koshelev, and Deputy Head of the General Staff Igor Sergun) and the FSB (including the head of the military counterintelligence department Alexander Bezverhniy).
The fourth group is businessmen. There are no names in this category yet. The EU leaders initially, following the US, considered the possibility of imposing sanctions on large entrepreneurs close to the Kremlin, but in the end did not begin to do so.
The fifth group includes media organizations and journalists who "actively participated in propaganda efforts in support of the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation and the Russian military intervention in Ukraine." These structures in the EU attributed to Gazprom Media, the TV channel Russia, Russia Today, Channel One and NTV. In addition to Dmitry Kiselyov, personalized sanctions are proposed to be extended to three more journalists: Mikhail Leontyev, Irada Zeinalov and Mikhail Gusman.
The EU is considering the possible introduction of new personal sanctions as an interim measure on the way to economic sanctions. Earlier, the chairman of the European Council, Herman Van Rompuy, said that the European Union is preparing a third package of sanctions against Russia because of the Russian aggression towards Ukraine.
UPD: 09/04/2014 The American destroyer entered the Black Sea to support Ukraine
The destroyer will take part in joint exercises with the ships of the Navy of NATO member countries on the Black Sea and will visit a number of ports.
Against the background of the worsening situation in the south-east of Ukraine, the US Navy destroyer Donald Cook (Donald Cook), equipped with the Aegis missile defense system, was introduced into the Black Sea to support Kiev and NATO allies on Tuesday. This was reported by the British newspaper "Telegraph", - Interfax-Ukraine.
Earlier, the American TV channel CNN reported, referring to representatives of the Pentagon, that the ship should come to the Black Sea until Thursday. His presence, the channel notes, is part of the Pentagon’s efforts to demonstrate support for Eastern European allies of the United States, anxious about the concentration of Russian troops on the border with Ukraine. As the NBC TV channel noted earlier, the destroyer is expected to take part in joint exercises with the ships of the Navy of NATO member countries on the Black Sea and visit a number of ports.
Pentagon spokesman Steve Warren confirmed last week that the Navy would send an American destroyer to the Black Sea in the coming days, "to assure our allies of our loyalty to our obligations in the region." At the same time, he stressed that this decision is "a direct consequence of the current situation in Ukraine." S. Warren did not rule out the possibility of conducting exercises with the Ukrainian Navy.
According to the US Naval Information Service, the destroyer Donald Cook, based in the Spanish port of Rota on the Atlantic, arrived in Spain on February 11. Washington decided to place it on a permanent basis in Europe as part of the program to build a phased adaptive missile defense system. According to the information service of the US Navy, in 2014 another destroyer, the Ross, will arrive at the naval base in Roth for permanent deployment, and the destroyers Carney and Porter (Porter ).
These ships, capable of tracking ballistic missiles and with a high probability of knocking them down, will conduct patrols in the eastern part of the Mediterranean. As representatives of the Navy, the purpose of the deployment of ships is to protect European allies, partner countries, American troops in the region, as well as the United States from the current and future missile threats. As previously reported, in March, the American destroyer "Trakstan" (Truxtun) visited the Black Sea. He took part in a number of exercises with the ships of the Navy of Romania and Bulgaria. The ship left the region on March 21.
