UPD: 10/23/2014 Poroshenko and Lyashko’s parties continue to lead the elections
According to a public opinion poll, published today at a press conference in Ukrinform: "the level of support for the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party is 28% of citizens. The Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko, supported by almost 14% of respondents, is in second place, the political party The Popular Front received 8%, said Vladimir Podgornov, president of the foundation. In his opinion, such a trend will remain until election day, which in fact will be the final result of the parliamentary campaign.
When choosing which party to vote for, citizens prefer those who have demonstrated practical activities, concrete actions to solve problems (27%), and the personality of the leader, who heads the political force (almost 25%), is also very important. The least important for respondents is the party program and official statements by party leaders (6%).
According to the results of the study, almost half of the population of Ukraine believes that political parties should contribute to attracting real professionals and professional personnel (43% support this idea) and prevent their outflow, as well as pay more attention to young personnel (almost 40% support this idea). Existing parties must demonstrate openness (this underlines the respondents) and radicalism (more than 20% of the respondents say this) in addressing pressing issues. At the same time, only up to 7.5% of respondents point out that they are ideological about solving specific problems that concern ordinary citizens.
The terms of the field phase of the study are October 4-17, 2014. The general population of the study was the population of Ukraine aged 18 years and older. The sample size was 2,000 respondents. The research method is a personal formalized interview according to the questionnaire.
The error of the representativeness of the study is +/- 2.4%.
