"The engines were renewed rocket engines, originally intended for use on the Soviet launch vehicle H-1 more than 40 years ago," - said Logsdon. The NK-33 engine was developed for the H-1 lunar rocket, manufactured since the early 1970s and is sold in the USA under the ISS program for Antares carrier rockets.
