We at shram.kiev.ua became curious how the actors who embodied their favorite characters look in ordinary life. We recognized some, and some struck us to the core.
The action of the Game of Thrones takes place in a fictional world reminiscent of medieval Europe, but the seasons in this world last for several of our years. The series begins at the end of a long summer. In the series, many characters act simultaneously and several storylines connected to each other develop. One of them is devoted to the struggle of several influential families over the throne of the kingdom; the other is about the attempts of the impoverished order, guarding the ancient Wall in the north of the country, to confront a supernatural threat from the outside; the third is about the journey of the exiled princess through the countries of the east in attempts to find allies for herself to return to her homeland and conquer the Iron Throne. There are fantastic creatures in the series: dragons and undead. The series is characterized by the absence of strictly positive characters, many heroes commit ambiguous acts and may die on the screen unexpectedly for the viewer. The series addresses issues of politics, religion, civil war, the status of women in society, crime and punishment. Especially for the series, several artificial languages were developed, in particular the pre-Thracian language.
The television series received high reviews from the audience, becoming one of the largest budget projects on modern American television and the most expensive in the fantasy genre, despite the fact that many critics negatively reacted to the excess in the series of profanity, brutally naturalistic killings, and numerous erotic scenes and hints of a sexual nature. Around the Game of Thrones an extensive fan community has sprung up. The series has been awarded many prestigious awards, including a total of 26 prime time Emmy awards in various categories, three times the Hugo Prize for Best Performance, as well as the Peabody Prize. The awards were also received by the actors participating in the television series - for example, Peter Dinklage, who played the role of Tirion Lannister in the series, was twice awarded the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Cersei Lannister - Lina Headey
Who would have thought that the golden-haired Queen Cersei, firstly, was a brunette, and secondly, she was completely different from her character. However, there are similarities - regardless of the color of the hair and what is worn on it, we admire Lina with equal pleasure both on the screen and outside of it.
John Snow - Keith Harington
We jumped with happiness, learning that John Snow was alive again! Don't you think that he is the most beautiful zombie you have ever seen? A nice bonus: in life, Keith is as good and charming as his character in the show.
Daenerys Targaryen - Emilia Clark
Daenerys Targaryen, or Khalisi, is one of the central characters in the series. The actress who performed this role is now known around the world and, although she can not boast of the platinum shade of her heroine's hair, she is incredibly beautiful and talented.
Melisandra - Caris van Houten
The sixth season shocked us with showing the real image of the priestess of Melisandra: it turns out that her beauty is the merit of a magic necklace. In reality, the Dutch actress, who played the role of the red priestess, does not need magic to look young and beautiful.
Arya Stark - Macy Williams
Arya, the youngest daughter of Ned Stark, always looked more like a tomboy-boy than a lady, and she was attracted to arms more than to embroidery. Macy, who embodied the indomitable little she-wolf on the screen, on the contrary, loves female things and knows how to emphasize her merits with the right make-up.
Sandor Cligan - Rory McCann
Truly make-up works wonders! We all remember the terrible scars that mutilated the Dog, and where are they now? Outside the set, the actor, who played the role of the unsociable mighty warrior, smiles a lot and communicates with fans with pleasure.
Margaery Tyrell - Natalie Dormer
The ambitious and determined Marguerite is known not only for her beauty, but also for her intelligence and talent for political intrigues. Natalie Dormer, who played the young queen, captivates not only with her charm, but also with courage: for the role of Cressida in the Hunger Games franchise, she shaved her head half bald.
Brienne Tart - Gwendoline Christie
Who said strong women cannot be beautiful? Look at the charming Gwendolyn, who embodied the noble warrior Brienne in the show. Unlike his heroine, Gwendoline knows how and loves to wear dresses, which we are very happy about: she looks fantastic in them.
Samwell Tarley - John Bradley West
John Snow’s best friend Sam conquered our hearts with his mind and real, unbroken courage. And in life, the actor who played the future master is as welcoming and sweet as Sam himself.
Ramsey Bolton - Ivan Reon
Ramsey Bolton has become one of the most popular characters of recent seasons: viewers were looking forward to when this embodiment of evil would get what it deserved. In reality, Ivan Reon, who played the role of Ramsey, is a pleasant and charming person, sincerely passionate about music. Who would have thought?
Brandon Stark - Isaac Hampstead Wright
We saw Bran a little restless boy, and suddenly - bam! - He is already quite an adult in recent seasons. This is one of those rare cases when an actor grew up simultaneously with his character: Isaac is now 17 years old.
Sansa Stark - Sophie Turner
Did you know that Sophie is a natural blonde? The green-eyed beauty for the role in the "Game of Thrones" had to constantly dye her hair. However, this is not the only difference between the heroine and the actress who embodied her. In real life, Sophie looks a lot happier than Sansa.
Joffrey Baratheon - Jack Gleason
Jack, brilliantly playing the eldest son of Queen Cersei, has long remained in the memory of the audience as one of the most evil and annoying characters. The fame was not easy for the young actor: it came to the point that people insulted him right in the middle of the street, although in reality Jack is a very sweet and nice guy.
Khal Drogo - Jason Momoa
Khal Drogo was remembered by us for his courage and love for the beautiful Daenerys. Outside the screen, Jason looks no less severe and brutal. You will not say anything, it suits him.
Yaken Hgar - Tom Vlashikha
The clever killer, serving the faceless god, is one of the most mysterious characters in the series, who had a strong influence on Arya. In real life, Tom Vlashikha, who played the role of Yaken, does not like mystery and hoodies, but he is always open for communication.
