We in shram.kiev.ua were curious about how the actors who embodied their favorite characters look like in ordinary life. Some we have learned, and some have struck us deeply.
The game "Game of Thrones" takes place in a fictional world, reminiscent of medieval Europe, but the seasons in this world last for several of our years. The action of the series begins at the end of a long summer. In the series, many characters act simultaneously and develop several related storylines. One of them is devoted to the struggle of several influential families for the throne of the kingdom; the other is about the attempts of the impoverished order guarding the ancient Wall in the north of the country to resist the supernatural threat from outside; the third is about the journey of the exiled princess to the countries of the east in an attempt to find allies to return to their homeland and conquer the Iron Throne. In the series, there are fantastic creatures: dragons and undead. For the series is characterized by the absence of strictly positive characters, many characters perform ambiguous actions and can die on the screen unexpectedly for the viewer. The series covers issues of politics, religion, civil war, the status of women in society, crime and punishment. Several artificial languages were developed specifically for the series, in particular, the Dothraki language.
The television series received high reviews from the audience, becoming one of the largest budget projects on modern American television and the most expensive in the fantasy genre, despite the fact that many critics negatively reacted to an excess of profanity in the TV series, murders in a violently naturalistic form, numerous erotic scenes and hints of a sexual nature. A wide fan community has sprung up around Game of Thrones. The series has been awarded many prestigious awards, including a total of 26 prime-time Emmy awards in various categories, three times the “Hugo” award for best performance, as well as the Peabody award. The actors who participated in the television series also received awards - for example, Peter Dinklage, who performed the role of Tirion Lannister in the series, was twice awarded the Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actor and Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Cersei Lannister - Lina Hidi
Who would have thought that the golden-haired queen Cersei was, first of all, a brunette, and secondly, she was completely different from her character. However, there are similarities - regardless of the hair color and what is on it, we admire Lina with equal pleasure both on the screen and outside of it.
John Snow - Keith Harington
We jumped in happiness when we heard that John Snow was alive again! Don't you think that he is the most beautiful zombie you have ever seen? A nice bonus: in life, Keith is as good and charming as his hero in the show.
Daenerys Targaryen - Emilia Clark
Daenerys Targaryen, or Khalisi, is one of the central characters of the series. The actress who performed this role is now known all over the world and, although she cannot boast a platinum shade of her heroine's hair, she is incredibly beautiful and talented.
Melisandre - Caris van Houten
The sixth season shook us by showing the real image of the priestess Melisandre: it turns out her beauty is due to the magic of the necklace. In reality, the Dutch actress, who played the role of the red priestess, does not need magic to look young and beautiful.
Arya Stark - Macy Williams
Arya, the youngest daughter of Ned Stark, was always more like a tomboy-boy than a lady, and she was drawn more to the arms than to the embroidery. Macy, who embodies the indomitable little she-wolf on the screen, on the contrary, loves women's things and knows how to emphasize her virtues with the right makeup.
Sandor Cleagan - Rory McCann
Truly makeup works wonders! We all remember the terrible scars that mutilated Dog, and where are they now? Outside the set, the actor, who played the role of an inhospitable mighty warrior, smiles a lot and communicates with fans with pleasure.
Margheri Tyrell - Natalie Dormer
Ambitious and determined Margheri is known not only for her beauty, but also for her intelligence and talent for political intrigues. Natalie Dormer, who played the young queen, fascinates not only with her charisma, but also with her courage: for the role of Cressida in the Hunger Games franchise, she shaved her hair half her head.
Brienne Tart - Gwendolyn Christie
Who said strong women can't be beautiful? Look at the charming Gwendolyn, who embodied the noble warrior Brienna in the show. Unlike his heroine, Gwendolyn knows and loves to wear dresses, which we are very pleased: she looks fantastic in them.
Samwell Tarley - John Bradley-West
John Snow's best friend Sam won our hearts with his mind and real, unfeigned courage. And in life, the actor who played the future meister is as friendly and sweet as Sam himself.
Ramsey Bolton - Ivan Reon
Ramsey Bolton has become one of the most popular characters of recent seasons: the audience was looking forward to when this evil incarnation will get what it deserves. In reality, Ivan Reon, who played the role of Ramsey, is a pleasant and charming man, genuinely passionate about music. Who would have thought?
Brandon Stark - Isaac Hampstead-Wright
We saw Brana as a little restless boy, and suddenly - bam! - he is quite adult in recent seasons. This is one of those rare occasions when an actor grew up with his character at the same time: Isaac is now 17 years old.
Sansa Stark - Sophie Turner
Did you know that Sophie is a natural blonde? Green-eyed beauty for a role in the "Game of Thrones" had to constantly dye her hair. However, this is not the only difference between the heroine and the actress who embodies her. In real life, Sophie looks much happier than Sansa.
Joffrey Baratheon - Jack Gleason
Jack, who brilliantly played the eldest son of Queen Cersei, remained in the audience for a long time as one of the most evil and annoying characters. Glory to the young actor was not easy: it came to the point that people insulted him right in the middle of the street, although in reality Jack was a very nice and pleasant guy.
Khal Drogo - Jason Momoa
Khal Drogo was remembered to us by his masculinity and love for the beautiful Daenerys. Off the screen, Jason looks no less severe and brutal. You will tell nothing, to it goes.
Yaken Khgar - Tom Vlashiha
The clever killer who serves the faceless god is one of the most mysterious characters in the series, having a strong influence on Arya. In real life, Tom Vlashikha, who played the role of Yaken, does not like mystery and robes, but for communication is always open.
