Natalie Portman was born on June 9, 1981 in Jerusalem, in the family of Avner Hershlag and Shelley Stevens. The father of the actress is a specialist in the treatment of infertility and reproductive endocrinology, a professor at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Hofstra School of Medicine, graduate of the Hadassah Medical School of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
