Arabian divination appeared in Europe at the end of the XIX century and is called "geomantic" or "dotted". Very often it is used by the people of Arabia and other inhabitants of the deserts, who, with the help of points drawn with a stick on the sand, explain the future by the figure that turned out of the dots. Points can be applied with a pencil or pen on paper, without any regularity, as horrible.
We wonder in the following way.
In four horizontal rows, we put any number of points from the right hand to the left, while thinking about the question that you are worried about.
On the side of the points we draw a vertical line (we can without it) put one zero opposite each row (if there is an odd number of points in the count) and 2 zeros (if the number of points is even when counting).
So we have 4 rows of zeros, which represent a certain figure, which we must find in the geomantic table.
After that, from the figure on the table, draw an imaginary line down to the intersection with the horizontal line, which corresponds to the number of the question of interest.
Then, by the letter that stands at the intersection of these lines, we search for the interpretation of this figure.
Instead of points, you can use a deck with cards. To do this, take any 4 cards, put them arbitrarily at any number of points, then shuffle the cards and lay them on the table one by one and proceed as above. If the first card contains an odd number of points, then set zero, even - 2 zeros. Thus, after viewing 4 cards, we get a figure of zeros.
It is possible to use the deck in another way. For example, we take out 4 different cards and designate them accordingly: the six and the eight are 2 zeros, the seven and nine are one zero.
Consider the divination further. Suppose someone wanted to get an answer to the ninth question: "Does he love me ...?" As a result of the placed points, a figure 0 00 00 0 appeared. This figure in the table is located fourth from the right. Draw the line down to the ninth row, since our question is the ninth and we get the letter "d".
