Watch "Palette" in the technique of decoupage.

Decoupage (decoupage) - the French word, which translates as "cut". In fact, this is a collage making or paper application. This technique of decorating household items was invented by Chinese peasants as early as the 12th century, when they first made a thin colorful paper, which began to decorate various things.

You can apply the applique to anything: on flower pots, vases, plates, glasses, cutting boards - as a result you get the effect of a "painted picture". Decoupage is often done with craquelure - special cracks, which give the object the effect of "aging", but are formed as a result of the interaction of paint and varnish when heated and dried.

2. Bonding the motive.

Now when the surface is ready for decoration, cut out the desired motif from the decoupage map, glue it with the help of the decoupage "RENESANS" glue. Apply glue first to the location of the motive, apply motifs and apply glue from the middle to the edges from above, so as to avoid the formation of air bubbles.

3. The effect of aging.

After drying decoupage glue, apply one or more layers of varnish for aging on the entire surface of the palette, after 12-24 hours the surface will be dry to the touch then it is already possible to apply a varnish varnish. The size of cracks (craquelure) depends on the time of waiting for the drying of both varnishes, as well as the thickness of the layer.

4. Registration.

Lacquer the finished product with RENESANS varnish. When the varnish dries, drill a hole to establish the clock, measure the right distance and signify the numbers. Set the mechanism with the arrows and the clock is ready!
