An example can serve: an electrician's knife, a fishing knife, a boatswain's, a boatman, a scuba diver, a hunting knife, a shoemaker's knife, etc.

The idea to make a biker knife was confronted with the lack of explicit specialized needs of a biker as a user. But, in the first place came the pathos and attribution of the knife, which should also have a clear recognizable belonging to the society of bikers and, of course, be beautiful.

In connection with the opening, I decided to make a knife from some part of the motorcycle, where the function of the handle should be performed by an unchanged part of the donor part.

In the design of the motorcycle was found only one part that meets the requirements: metal should be suitable for making a knife, the uncurled part of the product should clearly indicate the part from which the knife is made.

This detail was the crankshaft crankshaft engine internal combustion. Trial experiments have shown that the blade of steel connecting rod can easily take a decent hardening, suitable for full-fledged properties of the knife. Although, by experience, we can say that the connecting rods of one model of a motorcycle can be made from different steels, not to mention different motorcycles. Rarely, but the metal of some connecting rods is still not suitable for making blades.

It is also important to note that in order that the knife does not fit the definition of cold weapons, the thickness of the blade should not exceed 2.4 millimeters and the knife blade should not break at this thickness - this is to the issues of heat treatment. Therefore, we have to perform a test hardening each time to determine the optimal heat treatment regimes.

Also, in view of the fact that the knife is not a full-blown working knife, but rather an attribute, it can be decorated with artistic etching, which not only emphasizes the accessory of the knife, but also decorates it.

The functionality of these knives is quite controversial, but with its direct duties the knife manages, and the massive handle and pommel allow using it as a percussion instrument (hammer), which in the road is not superfluous.

About the romantic component.
