Breast-thyroid

Breast-thyroid muscle , m. Sternothyroideus, flat, located behind the previous muscle. It starts from the back surface of the cartilage of the 1st rib and the sternum arm, is directed upwards and is attached to the oblique line on the lateral surface of the thyroid cartilage of the larynx.

Function: pulls the larynx downwards.

Innervation: radix superior ansae cervicalis (CI-CIII).
