The muscle lifting the thyroid gland , m. Levator gl. Thyroideae, impermanent, is a thin muscular bundle that extends along the medial margin of the thyroid secretion muscle from the body of the hyoid bone or from the thyroid cartilage to the thyroid capsule (in the area of its isthmus, either lateral or pyramidal lobe).

This muscle bundle can be detached from the thyoglobular muscle, or from the puststechnitovidnoy muscle, or from the lower constrictor pharynx, m. Constrictor pharyngis inferior.

Function: tightens the capsule and with it the thyroid gland.
