Cartilaginous laryngis, cartilagines laryngis, are divided into paired and unpaired.
Unpaired cartilages include: thyroid cartilage , cartilago thyroidea; Cricoid cartilago , cartilago cricoidea, and epiglottis cartilago , epiglottica cartilago.
The pairs of cartilages are: arytenoid cartilage , cartilago arytenoidea; Carobed cartilage , cartilago corniculata, sphenoid cartilage , cartilago cuneiformis.

The hyaline cartilages of the larynx can become ossified due to old age.
