Cartilage of larynx. Laryngeal structure

Cartilaginous laryngis, cartilagines laryngis, are divided into paired and unpaired.

Unpaired cartilages include: thyroid cartilage , cartilago thyroidea; Cricoid cartilago , cartilago cricoidea, and epiglottis cartilago , epiglottica cartilago.

The pairs of cartilages are: arytenoid cartilage , cartilago arytenoidea; Carobed cartilage , cartilago corniculata, sphenoid cartilage , cartilago cuneiformis.

Cartilages of the larynx in most hyaline; Epiglottis, sphenoid and sphenoid cartilaginous cartilages, as well as the voice process in each arytenoid cartilage are formed by elastic cartilage.

The hyaline cartilages of the larynx can become ossified due to old age.
