The cavernous bodies of the clitoris are covered with a thin white membrane, tunica albuginea, and are separated by the median septum of cavernous bodies, septum corporum cavernosum, the processes of which penetrate the clitoral body and participate in the formation of septa in the spongy tissue of the cavernous bodies.
