Heel-cube joint
The heel-cube joint, articulatio calcaneocuboidea, is formed by the posterior articular surface of the cuboid, facies articularis posterior ossis cuboidei, and the cuboid articular surface of the calcaneus, facies articularis cuboidea calcanei. The articular surfaces of the heel-cube joint have a saddle shape. The joint capsule in the medial section is attached along the edge of the articular cartilage and is tightly taut, and in the lateral part it is attached somewhat away from the edge of the articular cartilage.
The joint is strengthened by a number of ligaments, which are more developed on the plantar side.

2. Plantar heel-cuboid ligament, lig. Cakaneocuboideum plantare, is deeper than the previous ligament. Its bundles abut directly to the joint capsule and connect the plantar surfaces of calcaneal and cuboidal bones.
The heel-cube joint in shape approaches the saddle joint, but functions as a uniaxial joint.
