Subordinate-sublingual muscle , m. Geniohyoideus, starts from the chin awn of the lower jaw, goes down and a few back, is located above the m. Mylohyoideus and attached to the front surface of the body of the hyoid bone.

Function: pulls forward and up the hyoid bone; With a strengthened hyoid bone involved in lowering the lower jaw.

Innervation: nn. Cervicales (CI-CII).

Blood supply: aa. Sublingualis, submentalis.
