As in the fashion industry, nutrition has its own trends, which are usually followed. But they were invented to sell as many goods as possible. You can even trace how the “healthy product” title passed: people attacked tofu and muesli, switched to raw foods and diets and did everything to stay healthy and fit. But it was enough to change the trends, and we learned that all these superfoods are not that useful. And some can lead to health problems. Therefore, we offer a list of 15 products that only pretend to be useful.
Banana chips are advertised as a great substitute for sweets. Why eat a chocolate bar when you can eat banana chips! Bananas are good, aren't they? But the trick is that banana chips are fried in deep fat. Even one serving contains 10 grams of saturated fat, which increase cholesterol levels. Better eat a fresh banana, then health will be all right.
Sushi is an example of how healthy food turns into harmful, if you use it a lot. Sushi is little heat-treated, so they are ranked as healthy food. But restaurants sushi is often made from fish with a high mercury content. And if you eat too much mercury, you can get symptoms of poisoning. What kind? Insomnia, nausea, hair loss, high blood pressure ... and many more unpleasant consequences.
Muesli has become synonymous with healthy breakfast. Many people refused bacon and eggs to start the day with something useful for the body. So if you want to use truly healthy muesli, then buy a pack of oatmeal, dried fruit, sunflower seeds, mix and enjoy a healthy breakfast, and not fake in a beautiful package.
Energy bars are most often found in special departments of stores with diet and healthy food. Nevertheless, they cannot be called dietary. It’s hard to find benefits in them; they may even be more harmful than candy. The fact is that energy bars basically force your body to store fat and store kilocalories, which in one bar can be up to 500 - so much we have to eat for lunch. When you decide to once again eat a bar, think about these numbers.

When people seek to lose weight, they are looking for foods with the lowest fat content. They buy low-fat yogurt and think that they have helped their body, but they are mistaken. When the fat content of the product is significantly reduced, many taste qualities are lost. To compensate for this, manufacturers add sugar. And low-fat yogurt turns out to be sweetened.
Gluten free products
If you cannot use gluten for medical reasons, you have no choice but to switch to a gluten-free diet. For everyone else, buying gluten-free products is a waste of money. Such products with a high degree of purification do not contain whole grains, which means that they have little fiber and antioxidants. So, if giving up gluten is not vital, don't waste your money!
Shopping sports drinks are harmful. Generally, on this planet there are no useful products of such shades. They are ranked as healthy foods because they are healthier than lemonades. Sweet soda is, of course, an absolute evil made from sugar and chemical ingredients. But this does not make sports drinks healthy. At home you are a chef, you can add anything you like to a smoothie. But some forget or do not have time to prepare a cocktail on their own and buy ready-made products. Be careful! Sugar in them may be more than you think!
Have you heard about the diet on popcorn? She was very popular. Who will refuse popcorn? But corn from the microwave is so-so idea. It contains in the composition of diacetyl, which is added to all artificial oils. Tasty, but terribly bad. Diacetyl is safe if present, but cannot be inhaled. When there is more sugar in the cereal mixture than grains and fibers, it becomes completely useless. Carefully read the composition of the product, if you want to eat a truly healthy meal.
Nuts contain many nutrients that improve our condition, and help fight excess weight in the diet. But it is worth processing the nuts into a paste, as all the benefits are completely lost. During processing, natural fats disintegrate, but artificial ones are added to the product. And also salt, sugar, preservatives and dyes. It is better to use almond oil instead of pasta.
Dried fruits are beautiful. When you dry them at home, retaining all the vitamins, fibers and minerals. But if you buy candied fruits in a store, then you take a packet of sugar. Saccharose manufacturers add to the dried fruit for a pleasant taste. And to preserve the color of the fruit, add sulfur. Such supplements can be dangerous and certainly will not help to lose weight.
