Ulcerative-uncritical enterocolitis

It occurs as an independent disease in the neonatal period, but at the same time it can develop against a background of various other diseases. Predisposing factors may be hypoxia and asphyxia during the intrauterine period and during labor. Dysbacteriosis is also important. The disease is more common in prematurely born children.
Symptoms and course:
There are no clearly expressed manifestations. Appetite is significantly reduced, the child sucks sluggishly, regurgitation increases, vomiting with an admixture of bile appears. The abdomen is swollen, a network of stagnant veins appears on the anterior abdominal wall. The pallor becomes stronger. The chair is watery with impurities of green color, with mucus, less often - with blood. There is flatulence - bloating due to increased gas formation. Deterioration of the condition in the form of sharp pallor, cyanosis, anxiety, loss of breath can be a sign of violation of the integrity of the intestinal wall. The increase in dehydration and toxicosis is a sign of the development of peritonitis (inflammation of the peritoneum).
Recognition: X-ray examination of the intestine.
Treatment:
From the very beginning together with the children's surgeon. Hospitalization is necessary. Apply antibiotics, vitamins intravenously, symptomatic treatment - cardiac drugs, diuretics and so on. To combat dysbacteriosis (a consequence of the use of antibiotics), biological agents are prescribed.
